There are so many products on the market today for new baby arrivals. A baby monitor can be one vital piece of equipment needed. There are many available today from basic ones to video ones!

WHAT IS IT?

The BT 100 Digital baby monitor has two units. One is the parent handet, which consists of a plug in adapter and mobile handset. The other is the baby unit which is powered by the mains.
PARENT UNIT

The parent handset is very handy as it is mobile, it can be carried around from room to room as you wish, it has a belt hook attached to the rear of the handset so can be just clipped on and with you wherever you go. It has a range of 300m indoors and 50m outdoors (in good conditions), I'm not very good with measurements but I've nipped across to my neighbours and it was still in range.

There are many features integrated into the parent unit. It has a talk button, which when pressed, allows the parent to talk to the baby through the monitors. I often tell my daughter to go back to sleep in the morning, but it never works! There is a light display so when sound is picked up from the baby monitor the lights illuminate to show the level of sound. There is also a light to display when the parent handset is muted, and when the battery is running low. 6 buttons are included on the front of the unit, to mute it, to adjust the sound level, to turn it off, and also to activate lullabys. There are 3 different lullabys available to play to the baby unit. In my personal opinion I wouldn't describe them as being soothing lullabys!

I have the mains adapter for the mobile handset plugged in next to my bed, it gets charged overnight then as soon as my daughter goes to sleep I keep the mobile unit with me. Not once has it said the batterys are low, so does hold it's power very well.

BABY UNIT

The baby unit has many features. It has an integrated nightlight which can be turned off or on by the touch of a button. The other buttons on the baby unit include a volume button for the volume of lullabys and when you talk to baby through the parent unit, it has a play and stop button and also a button to choose which lullaby to play. A very handy feature is the light to show whether or not it's linked to the parent unit, showing when the parent unit can not find the baby unit. This unit is powered by the mains, but batterys can also be added.
PRICE

I was given this as a gift when baby was born. Having had a quick google it is available for around £40. I think it's worth it's weight in gold. I've used it for 19 months now and not once has it let me down!

MY THOUGHTS

The BT 100 digital baby monitor is a fantastic essential piece of equipment. Not only does it gives you peace of mind, it gives you possible ways to try and soothe baby without being in the same room. Although my daughter has never liked the lullabys the sound of my voice through the parent unit is enough to reassure her. There has only ever been one slight problem I have encountered, that was when I put my daughter to bed, switched on her unit, then went downstairs to look for mine and it was no where to be seen. There is a button on the baby unit to alert the parent unit when lost, but obviously the parent unit wasn't turned on, so I paniced. Finally found it in saucepan. I don't think any baby monitor can locate the missing half if it's switched off, but it would be a nice idea if it could!

I would recommend this product to anyone searching for a baby monitor, it ticked all the right boxes for me! 4*'s, had to knock one off for the lame lullabys.
