BT 150 Digital Baby Monitor

I had a chance to use this baby monitor which belonged to my friend, when our own video monitor was sent for repair. Initially not keen on 'non-video' monitors, I was very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the sound which gave me added level of reassurance. Although not being able to see my baby as I used to, I was able to hear much more detail of the baby talk then with my own monitor.

The positive points in my view are

• very high sound quality
• easy to carry around parent unit (good size and including the belt clip)
• temperature monitoring including optional alarm (this was not present on my own monitor and I would have really loved to see it there because it's such a reassurance! My daughter slept in her room from very early on and being born in the winter, we used separate heating unit for her room. I often worried that this unit might make room too warm in the night and I wouldn't know - this would have been a great help)

The negative points are

• the choice and adaptation of the lullabies is not the best (although there are several to choose from, they are all performed in rhythmical way which is not very soothing and when I used it, it would always wake my daughter up rather then put her to sleep)
• the baby unit is not easy to place (didn't have a direct problem with this as my daughter didn't use the full length of her cot at the time, so the unit could be placed at the top end out of reach, but unless there is a bedside table next to the cot, it could be a little issue when baby gets more mobile)

Over all I was very pleasantly surprised by the fabulous quality of the sound and would happily recommend this monitor to anyone who is happy to have non-vision monitor (and doesn't mind the lullabies :) )
