I am a young husband and dad who has emigrated from Germany to Scotland in 2004. Before I am buying a more expensive product I do intensive research. I like to share my own opinions on products I own with others and try to put empathy into my reviews.

When our boy was on his way, daddy had all the fun to look into gadgets for the new era in our life. Now having had an experience with the widely used and available Tomy Baby Monitors I was absolutely sure that I do not want one of those as when being with friends who are using one of these I felt Darth Vader nearby because of all the interference radio noises. After having done some sufficient research I settled with this beautiful machine from BT. It is the simplest one available (there is newer and better ones) and easy to order for around 45 quid from Amazon. I myself bought it for 20 quid used on Ebay and it has now already the fourth child on it.
There is not much to discuss about baby monitors as they are supposed to fulfil a very specific task. If you need a camera and/or temperature sensor or any other, for my own use unnecessary, upgrade than look no further. If you are looking for a really good simple Baby Monitor please read about why I love this one:
1st Plus
This Monitor is digital and therefore you can lower the sensitivity if you want to cut out the noise of the surrounding where the baby is sleeping (e.g. birds outside). The Monitor will only activate if your baby is making a little more noise than just turning around and is therefore absolutely quiet. This is sooo useful if you have it standing next to you while you are sleeping yourself. And you have still the possibility to have every single noise transferred to you if you wish so by simply putting the sensitivity to the highest.
2nd Plus
This one has ultra crisp sound and it feels as if your baby is lying next to you.
3rd Plus
The Parent Unit is sitting like a home phone handset in a charging cradle and you just take it out when you need to go to another part of the house and you will always have great battery life.
4th Plus
The Parental Unit has this light scale that goes up depending on how much noise there is therefore this unit is suitable for people with hearing difficulties.
5th Plus
The Baby unit has Night light. There is an intercom, although I am not quite sure if there is anyone out there who has ever used this. The range of 300 metres is the usual handset range.
I have recommended this Baby Monitor many times and will continue to do this. This product is performing incredibly well.
Thank you for reading.
