Advantages Handy tool
Disadvantages Privacy is lost
I got this Caller Display to keep track of my calls. I bought this after a friend recommended it. The Caller Display is quite compact and doesnt take much space. Very easy to set up and the display on the Screen is quite good. The well lit background and good size fonts makes it easy for reading. This has a capacity of storing the last 40 calls and when the limit is reached the 1st call gets deleted.
There is a Clock and allows for alarms to be set. The alarm tone is good as well. The date setting on the display displays the Date along with the time. The main function of Displaying Calling Number is excellent. IT displays the calling number and if not answered, stores the numbers. When I come in the evening, it displays all the incoming calls including the calls whose numbers were not displayed. I can scroll up and down the display and view all the calls. The best feature is Call Back facility. When I scroll the list up and down, I dont have to read the number and dial it from the phone itself. All I do it press the Call button on the Caller Display, the phone dials out the number automatically, quite a handy feature since I dont have to read and dial the numbers. One touch feature solves the problem of call back. Deleting numbers from the the list is one button feature, no lengthy menus. This Unit needs 4 AAA batteries. Being and average user, i havent replaced the batteries since i bought it a few months ago. The battery symbol is displayed on the screen , showing the battery level. At the moment mine is at 80-85% level.
The screen contrast can be adjusted to suit the lighting in the room and displaying the screen contents. There are 8 levels of contrast, quite a wide range.Cleaning is quite easy and doesnt need any special chemicals or sprays. A damp cloth is enough to clean it up and the instruction book that came along with it suggests that this unit must not be placed on any antique furniture, perhaps it is to prevent any leaks from the batteries runining the antique.
The only downside of this Caller Display is that you dont have privacy of your callers. Any nosy person at home can access all your calls and keep tabs on your calls. This might kill the privacy for some people wanting to keep their incoming calls a secret.I bought this from Comet when there was a clearance Discount. It was priced at £9.99 and the full price was £23. This product is available online on a website
http://www.home-phones.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=74and the cost is £19.90.
Overall, its a handy tool.
