My problem with BT shop is that they cannot deal with any enquiry that is slightly unusual. The problem I had was that I have a cordless BT phone (quartet) and wanted to upgrade it to the answer phone version without having to buy a second base unit, which would be of no use.

"Is there any way that I can exchange the units?", I asked. "You need to buy the answer phone set", came the reply. I knew what I needed but ...

I'm not surprised that my BT shares are plummeting!

...straight to the point on BT shops. I am currently a BT Cellnet user and went into the BT shop to look for an upgrade. I had been in there for about ten minutes, there was no other customers in the shop, so i thought some one might come over as i was looking at the mobiles but i had ask them to come over. I asked a few questions like could i keep my number, and why some models were differently priced on the website to the shop. The assistant did not ...
...on my phone, that the BT shop will charge you a reconnection fee of £35 to keep your number, even if your a BT Cellnet First customer. But if you buy through BT direct available off a Cellnet phone for free, they wont charge you the reconnection fee and neither will most when you upgrade. In the shop they have new phones but at such a higher rate to others on the high street and their own website. The BT shops are for mainly for new customers only ...

All that glitters is not gold

Advantages: Price promo's look good
Disadvantages: extremely poor customer service and training to staff

...had nothing but trouble with bt since day one. It took a week before the photo messaging settings were activated by them and this was with me phoning them every night. Once all that was sorted I received my firat bill in and found out that I had some other customers number on it and that I had been paying for all his calls and games and messages. I had to phone up every night for a week before they would believe it was not mine. Every time I spoke ...
...need to call me back the next day, and hay presto it never happened. After all this it took another 3 weeks of being messed about by them before I could get them to collect the phones. I am barely able to convey how bad I was treated. Staff have little to no knowledge Tell you anything to get you off the phone You never get call backs queues are unbelievably long, as is the refund process. On the note about the queue's, to speak to an advisor ...

Vodafone are good, but...

Advantages: Variety of suppliers
Disadvantages: Tariifs on the heavy side for many

I originally chose Vodafone 6 years ago for my first mobile phone because of the deals they offered. This first phone was analogue! I've stuck with them despite various temptations from the other mobile providers over the years. Most recently I upgraded my Nokia 5110 to a 3210, but before I did I visited the BT Cellnet shop in Winchester for a quotation. I decided not to go for their products because they were not cheaper or better than Vodafone, so I bought another Vodafone phone (ie 3210) from KJC, the company who had supplied my last mobile phone. Because I had bought my last phone from them, I got their usual deal and then kept the same number and the contracts run end to end. This way I didn't terminate one early. I'm happy with this so I will be doing the same this year for a free 3310 (WAP) and again will keep the same number ...

my daughter had one 2 one, the other daughter and her fiancee had virgin, myself and husband bt cellnet which one worked I hear you ask? well the one 2 one was ok for a short while then difficult to get through to the customer service. virgin well give up the signal always cutting out or down very bad service if you tried to sort it out in the shop (local to us) but with bt cellnet, no trouble easy to get through and very polite service also the signal very rarely goes down, the vouchers are easy to obtain so i am sticking to them p.s. both my daughters have now changed over too.. interested in what others feel.. updated: 14.12.00 Recently my niece purchase orange. She states that she has been having minor troubles mainly in confined spaces with the signal. My husband purchased the newer bt cellnet model. He has found that his ...

a note. I knew that they had done nothing of the sort because I had stayed in my house all day. At no time had I received any notification from Securicor telling me this. I then contaced Vodafone again and told them that if it was not here by Saturday I didnt want it. I am now cancelling my account and joining Bt Cellnet. By buying it in a shop where I am in control. ...
