The BT Duet 20 is what I would call a Standard corded Telephone , sturdy and reliable. It does exactly what it says on the box.
The Phone is white and being neutral in colour means it should fit in with most surroundings. The down side to it being white is that it will get marks on it and generally grubby. A quick wipe with a very damp cloth should do the job of removing any marks or dirt ,it did on ours.
All the buttons are on the inside of the handset which means they are tucked away for a bit of protection. On the handset situated at the bottom of the dialling numbers are four feature buttons ,Pause ,Redial, Secrecy and Call Waiting. Redial and Secrecy are the two buttons we use, for Call Waiting to work you have to be subscribe to your phone line provider.
There are three ringer settings of high, low and off. The off has come in very handy when I have been on nights .It obviously still receives incoming calls but there is a incoming light indicator at the bottom of the hand set, so if any house hold member happens to walk past and see the light flashing then they would be able to answer the phone. The only down side to the ringer setting button is that it is situated on the side of the handset and could be accidentally flicked to an off position while using the phone.
The ringer seems loud enough to me and and the quality of the sound when we are using the phone does generally sound clear but it does depend on the line and other phone you are calling too .
The phone can be placed on a table top or the added option of wall mounting. It does come with a wall mounting diagram but no screws or wall plugs, you have to provide your own. It also comes with a full user guide but you can not really go wrong with the functionality of the phone as it is so simple to use.
We bought the phone from Argos at a cost of £10.99 but I have seen the phone priced at £8.20 from Amazon.
