I have recently been going through every electronic device I have in my house to find the perfect one to write about and have settled on my two home phones one of which is upstairs in my bedroom and the other downstairs so as I don't have to go far when it ring's. They are both cordless this is an essential when you have two babies at home with you during the day and nobody to get the phone for you when it rings. I had considered many phones for the house and even considered just using the mobile but I had to pay line rental to have my broadband so thought I may as well have a home phone. I looked everywhere and in the end selected the BT Diverse 6410 twin set from the BT website. They stood out because they had everything a mobile phone had including text messaging which is a real bonus especially where my wife works till late doing care work and rings all the time to let me know she is ok, now all she needs to do is text saving time and money.

The phones are really stylish in a great metallic finish and the customizable settings make it really appealing for those that like to keep their naughty fingers busy. There are plenty of thing's to play with including wall papers and ring tones, additional graphics and ring tones can also be downloaded via the USB cable they supply with the phone and your internet connection or CD also supplied. The signal I get with these phones is crystal clear being digital and I never fail to hear it ringing as it has multiple volume settings and a wide choice of ring tones to select from. The other great thing with these phones is the battery life the built in rechargeable batteries charge in the cradles supplied and give about 5 hours of talk time before dying out so even if taken out of the cradle and left like my kid's often do with it you can always pick it up and still make a call.

When it comes to phone book memory there is loads as you will see above it holds up to 200 names and numbers and because of the large screen it can display loads of information these can be complimented by photos next to the name of the person as well as displayed as caller ID when they are calling you. The ability to send and recieve text messages is a great addition and again the large multi lined screen allows for full text messages to be sent, these are used in the same way as you use text messaging on a mobile phone.

Yet another brilliant feature is the ability to insert a mobile sim card into the phone base and transfer all the numbers upon the sim to the phone book of your house phone easy and simple. There is a phone locater button on the base unit which you can press to make the handset itself beep to let you know where it is mine is usually found in the radiator cover or down the sofa. The phone works even when I am in the garden making it very versitle and good at range I lose nothing in the sound quality it says 300m but I have made it work at over 400m when I go out to the car for something and on the phone it still operates.

This phone would also be great for a small office as you can transfer calls to either a mobile or the other handset at the touch of a button and even play music whilst placing someone on hold, this is annoying I know for those waiting but hey it sounds professional lol. The 1 year warranty included is nearly up for us but we have had no problems at all with this phone but you will need to follow the quite complicated instruction booklet to set it up and understand how all the features work.

There is a capacity for the phone to automatically store the last 20 numbers called or called in making calling people back when you have missed the call very easy just select the number missed and press the call button to connect. Most of the settings are accessed through the LCD colour display and again you will need the manual to work this out although a lot of it is self explanitory. There are on screen indicators to let you know when you have a text or message waiting and you can even set the phone as an alarm just like when staying in a hotel room.

I must say that these handsets are cheap considering that at £99.00 you get two handsets and all these features, compare that to a mobile phone and you will see that you are actually getting a really good deal providing that you will make full use of all the available features. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone considering it and it is also available in a single handset form as well.
