Hi, I have now had this phone for almost 3 months and I originally bought it to replace the old corded phone which I had to leave behind when moving house. Because of this the phone was bought without any major looking in to, all I was looking for was for a reasonably priced cordless phone which had an answer phone built into it. In my review I will weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of this phone.
Advantages:1. The cordless capabilities of this phone are amazing, when I first set it up I thought why not give it a test to see how far I would be able to go before the phone cut out. After doing this test it was clear how much of a good buy this phone really was, I had managed to walk about 200 feet away from my house and the phone did not even cut out, in fact I could not even recognise a decrease in the quality of the signal. My next plan is to see how far I can take it before it completely cuts out.
2. The phone also has an answer phone built into it. This is a major plus point because since I have never had an answer phone before I did not know what I have been missing out on. Whenever a message has been left on the answer phone it does tell you the date and time at which the message had been left (contrary to another of the reviews which has been based on this product). The answer phone is also very easy to operate, if you want to play any messages all you have to do is press a very clear button which displays the word "play" on it. It is just as easy to skip through/back messages and delete messages with just a press of either a red circular button or a button displaying the "+" or the "-" logo. One last advantage with this answer phone is that it can be turned on and off, this may be useful to different people because you could turn the answer phone off when you are inside your house and when you go out you can turn it on, suiting you whichever way.3. The look and clarity of this phone are very good, whenever I have been talking to someone i have never had any trouble with muffled voices or talking to someone and their words getting cut out halfway though. The clarity on the answer phone is just as good too. As the look of the handset goes I think that is one of the better looking phones on the market the buttons are neither to big or too small just right, it is quite compact and sleek. The answer phone/base part of the set is quite good looking without having too many buttons (something i hate about electrical equipment) making it look cluttered.
4. Lastly the price of this phone is a major advantage it's now selling for roughly between £20 and £25. I think this is a great price for such a good phone which has almost no disadvantages. It is probably an even better deal if you buy a pack of more than one handset (which i wish i had done now; its so good). If the phone has some advantages there must also be at least one disadvantage, here it is:
1. One of the things that I have found to be annoying about this handset is that you can pick the amount of rings that sound before the phone automatically cuts to the answer phone if you have not turned it off. The problem is that the maximum amount of rings you can have is eight, I don't know about you but this is simply not enough, for example the amount of times someone has tried to ring me while I am in bed and by the time I manage to get to the phone it rings off, and I would always much rather talk to someone one to one than listen to a recorded message, even though it can be handy sometimes when your out.If I was asked whether i would recommend this phone to someone, I would definitely say yes because this is one of the best phones that I have happened to come across. I might even recommend for someone interested to buy one of the packs which have more than one handset so that you are never too far away from a handset.
