The strength of the signal from your phone depends on its position. I have mine on my PC table in the dining room, but they recommend that you locate the phone station in an upstairs room. They also recommend that you should keep the phones away from electrical appliances therefore I really should move mine!! One meter away from these appliances is suffiicient. To be honest, I havent really had any problems with reception, so try it in the location you want before worrying about interference!
The Synergy 2110 has an indoor range of up to 50 metres and an outdoor range of up to a massive 100 metres. Metal and water, apparently can affect the quality of reception.
The handsets have a rechargeable Nickel Cadmium battery which should be charged for at least 16 hours before use, as you would with a new mobile phone. You should not ever use batteries other than those specified!! A red LCD shows when the battery is charging. This is located on the handset station. The light flashes when it needs recharging. If in use, you will hear a beep every few seconds, again, as you would with a mobile phone. After the initial charge, four or five hours is sufficient!
The talktime is around six hours although standby time is 100 hours! I usually keep the handset on the base unless I know I will need it and never have to cut a call short due to a low battery! Used sensibly it performs!
You should not connect the phone to the phone line until it is properly charged. Interruptions to the charging process may stop the battery ever being able to reach full charged capacity.
All phones come set with a safety PIN, as with mobiles, which can be changed as necessary. The PIN is needed when registering new handsets so it should be kept safe.
The phone is simple to use. When making a call, you can press the green button, as you get on mobile phones before or after dialling the number you wish to call. It really makes no difference. To end a call you simply press the red button.
To receive a call, you press the green button or if the phone is on the station bas, you can just pick up and the call is automatically answered. There is a ten number memory bank which is also handy. There is no where to note the numbers like on some phones. Sometimes you get a list on the base of the phone or a pull out strip. I had to stick a sticker on the base of my phone to remember my numbers!
The button for the phone book is a standard open book symbol. Easy peasy!!
There is also a SOS button. A number can be stored in here for emergencys. You simply press the button and the number is dialled. I have my partners number stored so that if any thing happens at home, my son can easily contact someone!
The one aspect of this phone I do not liek is te ring tones. They do not have jus a standard ring. They are a bit bleepy for y liking and a difficult to hear sometimes. There are three different melodys with tthe second one being preset. You can adjust the volume but it is still not as loud as other phones.
On the base unit there is also a page button, so thatif you accidently lose your handset , you can page it and the handset will bleep! Very handy, believe me!
A total of 4 Additional handsets is allowed per base station. It is recommended that you use all the same type handsets.

Proof of purchase is needed for this service so keep your receipt! Do not try mending it yourself or changing anything ewither, as this is invalidate your warranty!
The manual which comes with the phoneis so simple! It has a quick glance guide and then an indepth explanation of how everything works. The phone, to be quite honest is very simple and the quick glance is really all you need to get going!
Although this phone does retail for around £60.00, and more, I have managed to find it for as little as £50.00. www.evocal.co.uk have hundreds of phones with massive discounts. The actual Bt website and Kelkoo sell the phone for a massive £69.99!!
To get a dual or trio set, for additional lines, expect to pay up to £110.00. Additional handsets are available for around £40.00.
A great little phone for those of you who are a bit scared of technology. It i veryeasy to use with a few necessary functions. you can be hip without having to study too hard! And its quite stylish too!!
Advantages: Slim, light, modern design, Disadvantages: Only 3 ringer melodies; No answerphone function; no speaker
...handset.
But overall range and clarity of the Synergy is far superior to the Binatone.
Overall I would recommend this phone. You can't beat BT as a manufacturer of home phones.
I am currently looking for a Synergy 2150 (has built in answerphone) to link to my 2110. ...
