The customer service from BT is poor. When the router first stopped working and I rang up to get some help, I was just diverted from call centre to call centre, usually abroad and told the same instructions, which did not work. I ttook about an hour for someone to suggest that I should try unplugging the power, waiting three minutes and trying again.

The problems with this router are that it isn't easy to set up and it sometimes stops working, requiring you to unplug the power and plug it back in again. I am particularly annoyed with it because I have a Belkin wireless adaptor for another computer that should, in theory, allow that computer to connect to the router and hence to the internet. Unfortunately this does not happen. I do not know whether this is due to BT and Belkin hardware/software not working with each other or some configuration error on the computer's Windows system so it may not be the router's fault. It must be said that it was possible to connect my PSP and my Dad's laptop to the router as well as the main computer it was intended for. Regarding the way it sometimes stops working, I am very irritated. It isn't that old a piece of hardware to be temporarily stopping. This isn't so much of a problem for me as I know how to fix it but some of the other members of my family cannot and so they occassionally have to do without the internet. If you are interested in the way it looks, I suppose it looks alright, being silver and a relatively normal shape. The customer service from BT is poor. I ttook about an hour for someone to suggest that I should try unplugging the power, waiting three minutes and trying again. I haven't tried any other wireless routers and I am not a computer expert, but you aren't supposed to be when you are using these things at home so I am disappointed. So I would say that this isn't necessarily that good a choice if you are looking for a wireless router. I think it cost about £100 when we bought it but I'm not sure. Bear in mind that you will need wireless adaptors for any computers you want to connect.

I bought a BT voyager 1010 USB adapter to go with this, and the two work great together.
The only problem I have with this, is that if I do not have the router on and initiated before the computer has warmed up, it does not connect, and I have to either reset the computer, or try and reset the router which does not always work. ...

Advantages: Fairly easy to install, small, USB Disadvantages: A bit slow to connect
This is a wireless adapter designed for use with the BTVoyager2000wirelessrouter, which is what I have used mine with. Unlike the router, it has actually been quite easy to install and set up. The booklet supplied with it guides you through the process and I didn't have any real trouble with it.
The adapter will connect to other types of network as it has found others in our neighbourhood and presumably would connect to them if you had the security code.
In terms of reliability it seems to have been fine. The router has probably been responsible for most of the problems rather than the adapter. The software it works with also seems to have been fine.
The only problem is that when you turn the computer on, it tajes up to five minutes for the connection to be established, which isn't great if you are trying to get on the internet ...
