...B&Q Oil Filled Radiator
Bought one of these around 6months ago our heating wasn't going to be working for a couple of weeks so bought this for the bedroom. Went to B&Q as knew they had quite a selection didn't want a huge one as we don't really have much room in the bedroom.
We bought it as a replacement for the halogen that we had been using which the dogs kept walking past and singing their tails in.
It takes quite a while to heat up even when it is on full power but once it is warm it is more than enough to warm our bedroom up. It has various settings of heat so once the room is warm you can turn it down which is a really useful feature, the dial for doing this how ever does not have numbers on it and I do think it would benefit it if it did so you could turn it down a set amount and know which setting you usually use...

...that there was moisture running down the walls all day long, it didnt look very nice and it didnt smell the greatest.
So off I went to B&Q, I didnt want to spend to much, but needed a reasonably sized dehumidifier, I havent got the smallest of bathrooms.
There wasnt a great choice but Ive never had a problem with any B&Q products before so I thought id give it a go, the B&Q10L compact dehumidifier, priced at £59.99.

Advantages: Quiet (with mod), removable water tank, air direction control, cheap Disadvantages: Water tank could do with being bigger (I'm being picky here!)
...I was looking for a relatively decent air con unit last Friday due ot the extereme heat. I was torn between the Focus 12000 BTU Hinari unit and the 14000 BTU unit I'd seen in a B&Q catalogue (NOT the split unit as seen on their website) and luckily I managed to test both of them so here is my review/comparison.
Cooling:-
The B&Q unit is rated at 14000 BTU's vs the Hinari unit which is rated at 12000 BTU's. From what I could feel in the store I'd say the B&Q unit does feel slightly cooler but not by a huge amount. In an average sized room I'd say you might get an extra 0.5 to 1 degree celsius off your room tempreture.
For reference, the Hinari cooled a 9sqm office I was working in from 30c to 25.2c in around an hour and also drastically reduced the humidity. This made the office competely bearable again.
Noise:-
The Hinari...

An award-winning musical which might never be seen in the UK, Avenue Q is weird, wonderful, tuneful and more than a little rude. Not for prudes or children, the cast recording reflects the musical in every way. One of my favourite CDs, it's not for... more
