A brush with Timbercare

AdvantagesEasy to treat fairly small areas; quick drying; relatively safe; value for money.

DisadvantagesNot quite as long-lasting as some other types of stains/treatments? More effort than spraying.

Good garden timber protector

Advantageseasy to apply, good colour

Disadvantagesnone

"...the garden. I chose B&Q Garden Timbercare as it was a good colour (Forest Green) and was a very reasonable price at £3.99 for 5 litres (Ronseal was 3 times the price at £9.99 for 5 litres), 5 Litres proved to be more than enough for my 2 new panels. I'm not sure if this product is available in any other colours as the green was the only one available at the time, but other manufacturers offer a red, green, blue and several browns, so B&Q may offer ..." This is lovely for the fence Review with images

AdvantagesIt's not expensive, it dries quickly and looks lovely

DisadvantagesNothing

"...little bit disappointed with the B&Q Timbercare because it was a low odour and didnít have the smell I thought it was going to have. I bought this 5 litre tub when I went to B&Q with my daughter. I was looking for paint but then decided I needed to do the back fence. I bought the green colour because I like the fence to blend in with the colour of my trees and bushes in my back garden. I used this when the weather was nice last year and I did three ..." Read review

You can do it over again, if you B&Q it.

AdvantagesCheaper than other brands.

DisadvantagesThin & watery, poor coverage, runny.

"...this product when my local B&Q ran out of another product in a similar shade of green. Sold in 9 litre tubs, I chose Forest Green from a range of 4 basic colours. Although it was substantially cheaper than the alternatives, I didn't like this product at all. The product was very watery and runny and it needed 2 coats before the colour showed evenly. It was also very messy to work with and splashed a lot. After unhappily living with the ..." Read review
