I went to B&Q to get some paint and other things that I thought may come in handy when we were renovating the new place. I was so impressed by B&Q, their staffs were so friendly, they helped us find some colour charts, and we took them home and decide on the colours and went back and bought them. The B&Q store is like a huge warehouse, the size is so big, with so many different things, I could not help looking around and they virtually sold everything ...
...It had a really good selection of things for the garden. It took us a good hour walking round and we ended up buying more than what we came in for. Then again how can you resist. We bought the paints, and bought a nice rug. I thought the prices were reasonable and it was well worth the visit out of town. The car parking was really good for a place so big it was well equipped. Have you been to B & Q lately? Yes I agree it appears quite impressive as you enter, with lots of aisls and reasonable displays. Two problems though, well only two found on my last visit. First, as I am sure that many of you have experienced, the Q in B & Q obviously stands of QUEUE, and the B for BE PATIENT. ...50 watts per bulb, and they connected to 240 volts without the necessity of a transformer. After I had fit them one of the bulbs blew after only a few hours use. I took the bulb back to the store and spoke with the duty manager called Steve, at the High Wycombe store.I spoke with him because I was amazed that I had purchased a set of lights from his store, and they DID NOT sell the bulbs to fit them! B&Q is an excellent DIY store, it has literally everything you could need for the home, garden, I have worked part time at this store, and we always tried our best to help our customers. And I myself have gone and found that the customer care is still as good at it is. Some of the prices are really good like a bought a lamp for the lounge from B&Q for £30 and in the catalogue it was for £59.99, what a savings. If you need to decorate the home, and ...
...a vast arrange of colours to chose from, and if you don’t like them you can make your own colours. If you purchase product which you yourself can not take home worry not they have a van and for an extra charge delivery will be made to your home. B&Q is a store that I have visited a few times and on all the times on my visit I have been amazed as to how much they have in stock, and how much range they have for every product. I am not exaggerating but they sell virtually anything that you could think, that you may need for your house. We normally go to buy paint, wallpaper or garden products. Each time I just find it unbelievable that they have so much. The store is like a warehouse and you ...
...Equally they have just as many staff, so if you need any expert advice, it is on hand if you want it. And the staff are really helpful in that, when we took our daughters along last time we went, they decided to touch some paint, unfortunately the lid was not tightly sealed and the paint went everywhere. I hate that TV advert and the annoying music that starts half way through. The shop might be half decent, but the music on their TV advert really gets on my nerves. It's got to the point now that I have to change the channel when I see the advert coming on, to protect my sanity. Who agrees with me?

...This is a tale of two cities and their respective B& Q branches. One is a super store in Newcastle upon Tyne (Scotswood) and the other a normal store in Gateshead (Swallwell) I have just purchased my first dish washer,(review to follow) well I had to do something to protect my hands didn’t I , and even though I detest Diy I have to admit that it does save money, so off I went to the Newcastle branch to purchase the taps, wastes and pipes that I required to fit the machine, only to find that one item that I required, a connector was out of stock. Now the Gateshead branch is only a five minute drive away so off I set only to realise that I had omitted to buy an inlet pipe for the machine. My luck was in and out, they had the pipe on the shelf but the price was in excess of £3 and in Newcastle it was £1.98, and other items such... Read review

...I like B&Q as a store it is absolutely brill, it has everything you could possibly think of that you require for your home and that’s not all it has staff that are their to give you expert advice. So why are the television commercials so bad, they don'’ paint the picture I have of this store in my head A picture that has a big store, where you can pick up bargains for the home, it has everything that you need to improve the home with, but this far some bizarre fact is not reflected in the advertisements. Instead they have/ show one item at a reduce price, they should try to reflect the real image that people have. Whenever the adverts come on, they just advertise one or two products. What I’m really trying to say is they need improving. For a store so big they really do come up with some bad adverts.... Read review

...B&Q have been running their cheap and cheeful advertising cmpaign for quite osme time now. You know the one - lots of B&Q staff popping in and out of shot as the camera goes around saying how good the stuff is - ending on the slogan "You can do it if you B and Q it". Remember now? Oh I am sorry, you didn't want to and who can blame you. This is tackiness made into an art form. Is it meant to show that B&Q is down to earth, that you get salt of the earth people so they strip it to the barebones of televisual production? Maybe...or maybe they're just cheap and cheesy like their products. I think I speak for everyone when I say that this is probably one of the nation's least favourite adverts and that it is time for a change now before it drives us completely mad.... Read review
