Since I remember my hair has always looked a bit messy and trust me, I take a lot care of my hair, I spend quiet lot of money each month on all kinds of conditioners, ... ...me I have seen an BaByliss You Curl advert and decided to try. I got in on Christmas from my boyfriend. Just a few seconds after unwrapping present I was plugging it and waiting for it to heat up. First thing that I noticed is that it takes really short to heat up and during using it's not getting any colder(so I didn't need to make any breaks when using it just to wait for it getting a bit warmer again).

Since I remember my hair has always looked a bit messy and trust me, I take a lot care of my hair, I spend quiet lot of money each month on all kinds of conditioners, anti frizz serums etc. but that seems not to be enough. I spend also quite lot of time trying to make any hairstyle. I tried all kind of hair stylers, many hair straighteners- few of them just didn't work on my hair at all as they were too thick. I could literally spend hours on making my hair, sometimes it was worth the effort…for something like an hour and then my hair went all messy again.
When I thought it was no help at all for me I have seen an BaByliss You Curl advert and decided to try. I got in on Christmas from my boyfriend. Just a few seconds after unwrapping present I was plugging it and waiting for it to heat up. First thing that I noticed is that it takes really short to heat up and during using it's not getting any colder(so I didn't need to make any breaks when using it just to wait for it getting a bit warmer again).
So I read instruction very, very carefully and I started, I made it exactly same as instruction was saying and…nothing, no curls on my hair…again…nothing…I got me very upset as I trusted in it, so I tried again and suddenly I got a beautiful curl on my hair. It looked pretty amazing, different that any other curler could ever make. I was amazed. I knew than that I must have made some mistake when trying it first time. I need to make you aware that when I made all my hair curly…it looked a bit too curly…even tho I've got a long hair. The curls were still nice but definitely too much of them. So I would rather recommend make curls only partially, for example few on the bottom and few on the top, effect is really fantastic.
You need to all know also one thing, don't trust into advert in 100%, as this styler makes a bit of damage to hair. Obviously, temperature is more than 200 degrees, it can't be healthy for your hair, but the thing is- straightening part is ceramic, the cooling thongs are not- and that means they make more damage to hair- I have noticed already that I have much more split ends that I had ever. So be careful.
Last thing is…when I mentioned that I had tried many straighteners before and I wasn't happy with most of them- BaByliss You Curl is a perfect hair straightener!!! It's very easy too use, it makes may hair proper straight, even when I just get up and my hair look impossible to straighten. They also stay very smooth and straight for a long, even if it's dump outside!!!

...However, when I found the BaByliss You Curl I thought I'd struck gold! It straightens _and_ it curls, depending on how you use it. I have never had much success in getting my hair to hold a curl, so I thought that even if it didn't live up to the promise of curls I would at least have a good straightener.
There are several similar products on the market and I weighed up the options before deciding that BaByliss was the brand I trusted the most and ... ...Curl was up to temperature. BaByliss definitely deliver on their promise of 'ultra-fast heat up'!
But did it deliver beautifully straight hair _and_ beautiful curls?

...few weeks later I recieved Babyliss You Curls for my birthday, and I was excited to try them out! They come in a sleek black box with a picture of them women on the front sporting the exact curls I wanted! On the back is a step by step instruction of how to achieve these curls, after a quick look I decided it seemed easy enough. Pulling out the curlers they looked quite odd! They were similar to straightners with the metal silver plates to put your ... ...the edge and around. Although they looked odd I thought they seemed quite funky! Plugging them in and you'll find you can set the tempreture to whatever you want I didnt set it to high as my hair is quite thin. Then it'll beep to let you know it's reached the tempreture. Advantages: Fast heating, space-saver. Disadvantages: Can be tricky to master the curling.
I bought this product when my previous hair straighteners went kaput 6 months ago. At first I found it quite tricky to get the hang of the curling action but with practice, I got the hang of it. It works equally well as a straightner or a curler and you don't end up with those hideous tight ringlets that you can end up with from some curlers.
Not only has it saved me the cost of buying a separate curler and straightner, but it has saved space too. ... ...your hair and a light which tells you when it is ready. It heats up in next to no time at all!
Although this does seem to be quite a revolutionary product, it must be noted that you can achieve the same effect with a standard straightner. However, nevertheless, this is a must-buy product. ...

I bought the Babyliss You Curl as a friend recommended them.. I have medium length hair thats quite thick, i seperated all my hair and curled sections as instructed in the booklet that came with the tongs. You have to curl your hair in a certain way for it to work otherwise it just straightens but once you get used to it, it becomes a lot quicker and easier to do. I sprayed each section with hairspray before and after i used the tongs to help the ... ...curling my hair the first section underneath had dropped out maybe i needed more hairspray so i re did the sections underneath. They are good value for money as i paid £39 and they create modern curls. They are fairly easy to use with 3 different heat settings and an on and off button once you get the hang of it. ...

Waited a while before getting these as wasn't entirely sure they would do what they promised,but saw them an sale and thought why not give them a go. Wish i hadn't bothered. Even when following the instructions to the letter 9 times out of ten all i got was a bump in my hair, on the odd occaission i did get a curl it, it was litterally one in the whole strand of hair ( my hair is fairly long , midway down back) in addition to this the strighteners ... ...and got better results, i have had a few other pairs of babylis strightners and must say these havn't impressed me much either. On the plus side these do heat up VERY quickly so at a push i may use them as strighteners if i really was in a rush. The whole idea behind these is to make curling your hair as easy as strightening it, so my advise is to spend the money on a decent pair of striaghteners and do it that way, or even a cheap curling tong, ...

Alot of people seem to think Ghds are the best hair straightners you can get. Well, no they are not. I have 3 Ghds, 1 pink, 1 rare and the other one black, I also have remington and babyliss straightners. My babyliss ones cost around £20 whilst each Ghds cost at least £80. To be honest my babyliss is much better, it curls easier and it straightens alot better. Obviously you have to go over the hair alot and re-straighten it with babyliss, and with Ghds you only do it once, but in the long run Ghds can damage your hair more as the temprature is very high. I seem to see that if you prep the hair before straightening so it looks greecy, the babyliss straightners work alot better and my hair stays straighter for longer. Obviously this is my opinion, so try it out for yourself. ...

with my hair, but when I looked in the mirror I was very pleased to see that I didn't have to do anything with it anyway....
My hair was still curly, they were looser and more tossled but still look good ( more natural ), I took my boys to school and saw a few friends of mine and the all commented on how nice my hair looked,no one knew that I Had done them the day before.
The only SMALL problem that I have found with these tongs is that because the grip is alittle small if your not carefull or have silky hair sometimes you'll find that your hair slips out of the grip but this isn't really much of a problem as the more you use these tongs you get used to the small grip and this then tends to happen less often.
All in All I give BabylissCurl and Press 9 out of 10 ...
