I bought my BabyBjorn before my baby was born as it seemed to be the carrier everyone was using and so I guessed it must be the best. It IS good - but there are downsides that you should consider before buying. This is a basic pouch type front carrier with excellent safety clips and machine washable.
For a newborn baby a carrier is a very easy way of transprting the baby. My newborn loved this carrier and used to fall asleep as soon as I started walking (very handy when you want to actually eat your dinner when still hot!) The only issue I had with this is that because the baby is so small when their head rests on you it does look uncomfortable and I actually had people on buses tell me that it was not a safe position for a newborn baby! They gave me allsorts of excuses why not even telling me that the parts were made together and they had certain tolerances and had to match for safety reasons etc. they are made from fabric and plastic and are probably churned out by the thousand in china. Hell my hubby is an engineer and works metal to thousands of an inch I could tell them about tolerances. I can?t see how an item made up of ok well stitched material and plastic catches could be so special that they didn?t have another ?pad? I could use. I would have quite happily paid half the original price for it. I was going to buy a second hand one on ebay as the other babybjorn carriers use the same system.
