Magic in a 125ml tube
Advantages: Non-greasy and it works Disadvantages: Smaller size tube would be handy for travel
...you make a decision.
Avent Soothing Magic Cream - is it just part of the name or is it really 'Magic'? Following a friendly recommendation I thought I should give it a go. I have purchased other Avent products in the past such as feeding bottles, teats and a steriliser. So Avent was becoming a trusted brand in our home.
The cream is described as 'The all-in-1 solution to your baby's daily skincare needs'. It can be applied to the face and the body ... ...weeks old I have used Avent Soothing Magic Cream on his face twice daily. He certainly has extremely soft skin. I also use it on grazes and scratches as well, which seem to disappear following a few applications. My little boy does tend to scratch his face quite a lot (due to rapidly growing finger nails). Dependant upon the size of the scratch a couple of applications is all that is required to stop him looking like a scratching pole.
I have also ...

A real Must Have
Advantages: Absorbs easily, smells lovely, makes skin so soft! Disadvantages: None
Bought the Magic cream when I had my first baby 2 years ago and havent bought another baby cream since! I tried the Magic Cream as my son had developed a rough patch of skin on his face, I tried it after his bath and within a few hours the dry patch had almost gone! The cream absorbed in really easily and smells lovely, the pump on the cream makes sure that you dont use too much - so you dont have excess waste! I now use whenever my now 2 yr old ...

Avent body indulgence cream
Advantages: easy to apply and not over-priced Disadvantages: hard to locate places to buy it
I love this cream! Having used it in my first pregnancy and found it really gentle on my already sensitive skin I am using it again this time. It's more liquid than some of the other creams for stretch marks etc so it goes on really nicely. My only problem has been buying more of it.....boots don't seem to be stocking it anymore, and I have only found it as part of a set in mothercare......I hope I can buy some more before it runs out!!
It is mildly ...

Massage your baby and bond at the same time
Advantages: bonding, useful, can be used for a long time Disadvantages: none
Never underestimate the importance of touch. Research has shown that babies who have more skin to skin contact with their parents from day one have better attachment and bonds with their parents. Skin to skin contact releases hormones which make baby and parent feel relaxed and reduces stress.
Baby massage is designed to help the parent bond with the baby and also add to that special time you have with your baby. It is not about play time like many ... ...main part of the massage is about strokes- moving the hands across the body part in a certain way. There are many different strokes and movements which carry out different functions on various body parts. One move is called 'Swedish Milking' which is a stroking down the leg motion with both hands at the same time. Another move is called 'Pit stop' wihch involves stroking under the baby's arm. It is a great way to get your baby to relax and feel at ...

what a good idea!
Advantages: smells lovely, sorts out red areas Disadvantages: cost
There are some areas other than the nappy area that get a bit red on a baby. This tends to be where the skin creases (under the chin, back of neck wrists and ankles). This is generally caused by moisture but as you are told not to use talc on a baby - what do you do? A friend recommended this to me as my baby got really red under his chin where he was dribbling or sick and I couldn\'t get in there to dry it every time. I put some of this under there ... ...not use this as much as an adult uses talc as it is quite pricey but definately a saviour for problem areas like that. It comes out easily in small amounts so you are not wasting it and you don\'t need much for each area. It smells lovely and feels really soft and silky. It absorbs into the skin fairly easily with a bit of rubbing ...
