Johnson's reputation does it for me
Advantages: Smells just like new born babies Disadvantages: Not the cheapest version of smaller supermarket branded products
Is it just me, or do all new mums have to have Johnson’s products? I think that many new mums do get given these products in baby essentials kits etc, as Johnson and Johnson’s have such a good reputation and I think the smell of their products epitomises the smell of new born babies. These are probably the three reasons why I use Johnson’s Baby Lotion, the reputation, the smell and the fact that I have a whole stash that was given to us whilst I ... ...use the lotion on my little one after his bath with a soothing massage in the hope that it will make him sleepy. A small amount goes a really long way and leaves his skin really soft and smooth with no stickiness as it absorbs really well. I really like the fact that varying sized bottles can be purchased... 50ml, 200ml and 500ml as the smaller bottles are really handy for travelling with. I keep miniatures with me in our changing bag just in case.

Baby Comfort in the simplest ways...
Advantages: mild and gentle, prevents nappy rash and friction, clean and fresh fragrance Disadvantages: None
Johnsons Baby Powder is one of the baby 'must-haves'; It is definitely one of the must-haves for bath times and baby changing.. Johnsons Baby Powder is one of the most popular products from the Johnsons Baby Range. It is sold in most supermarkets and stockists of baby products and retails for approximately £2 - £4 depending on the size. It is a talcum powder made especially for babies and is 'clinically proven to be mild and gentle' as per the Johnsons ... ...a large white rounded opaque plastic bottle which is white all over with the words standing out in blue, it is one of the first ones you will spot in the babies' range. The bottle has screw top cover that has two layers which are perforated with holes through which you can dispense the talc and you open and close these by turning the top layer of the cover around. The product itself is white in colour and fine in texture. The product's only two ingredients ...

Great products but are home brands any worse?
Advantages: Great on childrens skin and smell fantastic Disadvantages: Price
I have always been a Johnsons mum and used their products on my 2 children. I find their products are easy to use, smell fantastic and have no adverse effects on my childrens' skin. However, there is a small downside; the price. Everyone is now counting the pennies and I have reverted on a few occassions to the supermarket home brands and found no difference in quality. The only reason I choose Johnsons over home brands is pursely a snobby reason, ... ...not buying the best for them. Stupid really as the home brands are really just as good.
I have previously purchsed the talcum powder, shampoos and conditioners as well as baby oil and baby lotion which I use on myelf too. I am happy to continue to use their products and will not use anything other than the baby lotion but would substitute the other products for home brand or other branded products depending which is on sale. ...

A mums best friend
Advantages: Value for money and a lovely baby fresh smell. Disadvantages: Takes a while to be fully absorbed.
...including a gigantic bag of Johnsons baby products which in my opinion are a god send. The most useful and most versitile was definatly the baby oil. As my little boy has very dry skin we have been putting a tiny bit in his bath and then massaging it in to his skin this has helped no end. He then developed the dreaded cradle cap i have been massaging baby oil into his scalp morning and night this has not only got rid of the cradle cap but has left ... ...Um yum!
The product did however take quite a long time to be absorbed which usually results in leaving baby Myles to be left on a towel for about 10 minutes undressed - not that he minds he loves being naked, but as a mum i found this could be quite frustrating when we were in a rush to go somewhere.
Myles and i would highly recommend this product we have spent many a happy evening enjoying a bit of baby and mum bonding time thanks to Johnsons. ...

A PLEASING PRODUCT
Advantages: DOES AS IT SAYS ON THE BOTTLE Disadvantages: LEAVES THE SKIN LOOKING GREASY
I have used many different moisturising creams in the past for my children, but have discovered that the baby Oil Gel is the best by far.
I have used this for two years now for my baby daughter and also use it on my 5 year old. It is best to apply straight after a bath preferbly on wet skin, it really locks the moisture in (as it says on the bottle).
It comes in a plastic transparent bottle which is stored with the opening facing down, this enables ... ...needed. I have found that it lasts a long time as a small amount is enough to leave your skin feeling and smelling very nice.
The gel can however take a while to seep in and so you are left with a greasy look, however this does in turn leave the skin looking and feeling moisturised.
It usually retails around £2.75 so maybe a little more then buying another brand/range of moisturiser, however due to the longevity of it and the fantastic results ...
