SMA and constipation Advantages: No / less runny nose Disadvantages: Constipation ...if it helped. Tried SMA as a friend was using it. What a disaster. The equivalent SMA formula has 30% more iron and my poor baby suffered horrendous constipation. Again, I did not make the connection until I examined the contents of both formulas in detail and immediately chucked out the SMA. Give me a runny nose any day. It's not for everybody but I think its the best Advantages: free, enables you to bond well with baby, best nutrients etc Disadvantages: not always suitable to feed in public, noone else can feed unless expressed. Even before we had concieved I knew that I wanted to breastfeed my son. I was breastfed as a child and so was my younger sister, we are both healthy adults and I feel we have benefitted from it in the long run. I was asked by many people when I was pregnant if I was going to breastfeed and each time I would say that I wanted to very much so I will start with that and see how me and my baby get on with it and take it from there. I got many comments ... ...ignored, but everyone is entitled to their opinion and I do try and keep that into consideration when feeding my son. I fortunatley had a straightforward birth and was able to get my son latched to breast within 20 minutes of delivery and he fed again and again in hospital. Aptamil the closest to breast milk you can get! Advantages: very nutritional, nearest to breast milk, kind on tummies Disadvantages: slightly more expensive Not everybody is able to breast feed and not everybody chooses to breast feed, however, we are all encouraged to give our babies breast milk and to try to feed. Often, parents can feel guilty about not being able to breast feed and so Aptamil is a great product as it can help rid the feeling of guilt as this product is the closest formula to breast milk. Cow and Gate Comfort Advantages: Easy digest so great for babies with reflux and colic Disadvantages: Expensive but worth it ...I was originally worried she would be really unsettled with normal Cow and gate milk but she has been no different. She has also had cows milk with no problems. Nanny milk helped my daughters eczma Advantages: Helped reduced my daughters eczma Disadvantages: It's a bit expensive compared to ordinary baby milks and it can be a bit hard to find in the shops! Nanny goat milk has helped so much with my daughters eczma.Eczma in my daughters case was caused by having a lactose intolerance. i tried several different types of milk including soya but it did not agree with her at all and nothing worked as well as this one.She also found it really easy to digest.
