Heinz mums own recipe -almost as good as home cooked!
Advantages: Good variety, no hidden 'no no' ingredients Disadvantages: Pricey
...for them is your own cooked and pureed, but these have to be a close second. Unfortunately though, as with all baby products they are quite pricey (but aren't they worth it!!), but usually you can get good deals if you shop around and use vouchers etc. Brilliant. Thanks Heinz ...

COW & GATE BISCUITS FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS
Advantages: easy for babies to hold Disadvantages: can get messy
These biscuits are in a foil packet inside a cardboard box. The box says from 8 months but I fed them to my baby slightly earlier as she was ready for finger food.
The shape of the biscuits look like dog biscuits to me. They are designed so that small hands can grip them easily. (some other brands are a bit more difficult for babies to hold)
Each biscuit has "cow & gate" on it and what looks like an ear of corn.
They are made with six cereals ... ...with calcium, iron and vitamins.
This is partly why I like these biscuits as at least there is goodness in them.
The biscuits seem to melt a bit in the mouth , but still don't leave baby alone whilst eating them. If like my baby the baby puts the biscuit in the mouth takes it out, turns it round etc they can be a bit messy.

HiPP 'n' Healthy
Advantages: Organic, GM Free, Nutritioius, Convienant Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than other brands
HiPP Organic Products
-----------------------------
Ordinarily I make my own home-made baby purées as I like to know that my daughter is eating fresh, organic produce and I also rest well in the knowledge of knowing what's going into her mouth i.e. no salt or chemicals. However, what I want and the practicality of life are two entirely different things so it's not always an option to offer her my home-made food for every meal, such as the occasions ... ...the next best thing.
HiPP have been making baby foods for over 50 years and specialise in making foods with the highest quality produce. They have since become one of the top manufacturers of organic baby foods - so much so, they have frequently won awards for their high quality. What makes this high quality is:
· They only use certified organic ingredients
· They use no harmful pesticides
· They use no GM (Genetically Modified) ingredients

Farley`s Rusks, not only for the young!
Advantages: A good value baby and toddler treat Disadvantages: None
Farley's rusks may well be made for babies and toddlers but put a packet of rusks in front of me and I wouldn't be able to resist pinching one from the packet. I cant put my finger on the attraction but there is definitely something about the smell of the rusks that is very appealing. When my children were young rusks were considered as a luxury item, can you believe it?! But the odd packet managed to make its way into my shopping trolley. Now when ... ...one rusk in warm milk and the smell is still the very same. So lets take a look at what is in a Farley's rusk to make them so tempting. Farley's have packed their rusks with calcium, iron and added vitamins. Vitamins A, B, C, D and Niacin encourage healthy growth and development and of course the calcium helps to build healthy bones and teeth. The rusks are suitable for babies upwards of 4 months old, eaten mixed with milk as an introduction to solids ...
