Advantages: Easy to instal, easy to fold and pack away.
Disadvantages: Is more like a barrier tan a gate.

Advantages: nice idea, fairly discreet retracted
Disadvantages: not suitable for all gaps, noisy and awkward, a tenacious older toddler can unhook it
