If like me you are fed up with everything that is supposedly healthy containing sugar and salt then you too will be surprised at my discovery.
As this is a baby food category I suppose I should just cover the basics first I have never given my children any baby foods other than what I cook up myself and so how do I know of this range of foods you may ask, quite simply I was looking for a cereal type bar that I could eat that did not contain any sugar or salt.
Easy you say well it's not I had to resort to buying babyfood for myself. The ingredients in Organix Organic apricot fruit and cereal bars are as follows;
As you can tell from this list these are totally healthy and good for you and as they come in 30g bars they are a great snack that can stop a hunger pang or two.
The bars also come in apple and raspberry flavour which is very tangy but just as delicious. The bars are suitable from 12 months
I buy mine from Safeway but will look in other shops for them too, in Safeway they cost me 55p each bar.

Also from 12 months they have a multi pack of small boxed raisins and two different kinds of curly puffs in 15g bags. From 18 months they produce two kinds of mini breadsticks.
So there is a lot of choice and the best thing is you know that all the products do not contain any artificial colourings and flavourings as they are not permitted in organic foods. Baby organix say that they "use only pure organic ingredients, cooked simply, to ensure optimum taste and nutrition." Which is certainly true of the cereal bars that I have tried myself.
I am sorry that I cannot include prices as I have only bought the cereal bars but if I remember to check them out next time I am in a supermarket and I will update this opinion then.

...the jars and bottles of baby food rather then make my own. Of course my health visitor wasn't very happy with this and gave me a lecture on additives and freshness etc.
Well for me, the tins were much more convenient, yes they worked out more expensive but they gave me so much more choice of good healthy food for my baby.
Now I know that some of you will say that it's quick and easy to make your own baby food but to be honest, we eat a lot of convenience ... ...soon found out that my baby was going to be a very picky eater, after a bit of trial and error I worked out what foods he would eat (mainly sweet)and which he wouldn't (anything savoury) this made it difficult when choosing food for him. It wasn't a case of giving in to him but everytime I offered him a savoury meal he would either gag or spit it all over me. So for the first few weeks he ate lots of fruit (mostly apple) and seemed to thrive on it.

...buy the best for your baby - if you want a break from cooking your own food - I felt baby organix was the right choice to me at the time, bearing in mind its not exactly cheap! Everything was fine and I had been using it for about 4 months. Loads of different meals to choose from and very tasty, my son loved it. I bought a jar of fruity rice with chicken and apricots which is meant for 7mths plus,I thought it would make a nice change. I was spooning ... ...any of the product's by Baby Organix or are already using them then, maybe a little bit more care and attention to whats actually on the spoon will be called for!! After reading some of the comment's left on this opinion, I now think it would be wise to check all baby food, whether by Baby Organix or some other brand!! It really is scary to think what might be lerking in our jar's of baby food!! Definately a good advertisment for good home cooking!! ...

When I had my first baby seven years ago I was very diligent. I carefully steamed fruit and vegetables, pureed them, then scooped the rather unappetizing looking slush into icecube trays ready for freezing. Even though I produced all manner of very successful homemade recipes, I now have a very picky young son.
With my new baby now growing fast and very little ... ...alot of shop bought baby food. One of my favourite brands is Organix. Organic baby food now make up 40% of the market and sales are rapidly increasing. The Organix brand claim to make pure, healthy,nutritious foods - their mission statement being 'to make the world's finest baby and children's food sold wherever food is sold'.

Advantages: Jarred food with good texture - not runny like most Disadvantages: Allergy friendly only in fruit varieties, with the exception of First Vegetables
I loved baby organix when I first encountered it nearly six years ago. My baby was suffering from all sorts of allergies - she couldn't eat anything that contained milk, egg or wheat - and as a vegetarian I wasn't keen on giving her meat or fish. Baby Organix really fitted the bill - most of its product range was vegan, and there was a good selection that contained green vegetables. As a full time working mum I found them invaluable.
Now I have ... ...and made straight for the Baby Organix range. I was sorely disapointed - lots of fruit based products that fitted the bill, but only one choice for vegetables. The only choice containing a green vegetable also contained cheese. The lovely pasta sauce has had a milk product (cheese) added to it, as has the jarred cereal option. However, I really like the new baby rice cakes - although they are rather expensive for what they are.

I first came across Organix Moon Biscuits when I was shopping in my local Town Shopping centre, My daughter was getting a little hungry and I did not have her food with me so I popped in to Boots to see if they had any healthy alternatives to snacks and I came across Moon Biscuits. The Packaging looked very appealing, as it?s a dark box with a biscuit depicting a moon and a small cow jumping over the moon as in the nursery rhyme ?Hay Diddle Diddle??.
It also states ??NO GUNK?? and sweetened with Grape Juice.
I believe Organix Moon Biscuits are available from most Supermarkets for about £1.49 I am happy to pay the extra as they are the healthiest biscuit or snack I have seen to give my daughter.
My daughter loves these as it gives her the independence of feeding herself as they are the perfect size and texture, perfect size for her ...

In an attempt get my 8 month old Son to learn how to eat food by himself; a few people suggested buying Organix Rice Cakes as they make great first finger foods. I have never been a lover of Rice Cakes, as they usually taste bland and was sceptical that my Son would enjoy them as rice cakes squeak in your mouth when you are eating them and I imagine, that it?s like chewing flavoured polystyrene (not that I have tried eating polystyrene!)
Organix are a well known company who make foods for babies and toddlers and as their name suggests, their foods contain Organic ingredients. Organix also support health promotion projects to encourage better food choices, so it is reassuring to know that there?s no junk in their foods.
