Advantages Advantages Er...the little deer is kind of cute

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too sweet, not enough alcohol

Let me get something straight first of all. I’m not a Babycham drinker. Let me at Jo1l’s secret Newkie Broon stash, and I’m a happy man. But Babycham is definitely not for me! Babycham, as far as I can work out, is a drink for girls. It’s not just me that thinks this, either. The Babycham website plays up to it, too! If Babycham thinks it’s a drink for girls, then it must be a drink for girls! So, now you’re wondering what the heck I’m doing writing here. Which makes two of us, to be honest! It’s a warning. And the moral of the story is “Before opening your mouth, think!” It started like this ... more

Imagine if you will, for one moment that it is a calm clear beautiful spring morning. You are high up on a soft alpine meadow carpeted with flowers of varying shades and hues. Higher still the last snows of the winter sit adorning the glistening peaks. But nature in all her glory is at work and the snows slowly melt turning into trickles and streams that descend the mountains, bubbling and glistening as the fall ever faster through the lush meadows to the valleys below. Imagine now a small green lush bottle. Sitting on top of that bottle is a rich blue wrapper; the wrapper is of crinkled foil ... more

Advantages Advantages very cute fawn..it's cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages not really for men...not as nice as champers

Whilst browsing my local Somerfield's the other day I came across 'Babycham' and was rather attracted to the 'fawn' on the front. Babycham cleverly uses the cute fawn to attract women...well it is classed as a 'woman's drink'. The four 200ml bottles were excellently priced at £1.49 so I decided to add them to my basket. In recent years I have taken a fancy to wine and it is now my drink of choice when I go out. I purchased Babycham thinking it was a cheap version of wine and I wasn't far wrong although in comparison it is more of a cider. The product was marketed as a pear champagne and was ... more

Advantages Advantages It's cheap, the deer is completely cute.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It tastes vile.

I noticed that I'm lacking in 2-star reviews on my profile page, and so in the interest of balance I have searched Ciao's product listings in order to find something I felt merited a 2 -star review. And here it is: Babycham. This will not be a very long review. I just need to offer a little piece of advice to my fellow ciaoers. Never, ever spend your hard-earned cash on anything just because you think the picture on the packaging looks cute. Because that doesn't necessarily mean that the contents are going to be worth it. In the case of Babycham, I actually believe that if I were to drink an ... more

Advantages Advantages it is so cool, gets you tipsy

Disadvantages Disadvantages old blokes make jokes about it

it is official, Babycham is cool again. what goes around comes around as my old uncle fred used to say... he did always talk bollocks though!!! but this is an occassion when it is worth trying something everyone laughs and jokes about. When it was introduced in the 50s, Babycham apparently was the perfect drink to mirror female consumer desires of the time - being "a lively, fun drink they could call their own" (this is how most men think of me!!!). Since then the light, sweet sparkling drink has reached the heady heights of success and plumbed the depths of naffness. But Babycham is on the ... more
