A practical and light changing plate to put on top of a cot. It fits on most cot meassuring 60 x 120 cm. Easy to use and saves space when not in use. It is made from beech wood and is available in white and natural. It should be used with a standard changing mat on top. Available Colors: White, Natural.
Advantages: Safe, comfortable, roomy, easily accessible, well designed. Disadvantages: Choose colour wisely - black looks like a prison! Quite a lot larger than traditional playpens.
...I was bought this Baby Dan Babyden as a gift when my second son was born. It became a godsend as I needed some where safe to place baby inorder to retain my sanity. I did not want to put baby in cot each time, he needed his own fun area to play.
I have a small West Highland White Terrier - Charlie - who is a lovely natured dog with a gentle tempermant. I could not however trust baby and dog to be left together in the same room. Placing baby in playpen was my answer to this problem and left me able to get things done.
The playpen was quite a lot larger than we expected and does take up a lot of room - bigger than a traditional playpen - check dimesions before purchase.
The Babydan babyden is available in white, silver or black. I chose black as it went best with the lounge where it would be situated, however I did find it looked...

Advantages: three-in-one playpen, fireguard and room divider Disadvantages: takes a while to convert from one thing to the other
...mattress base, which is cushioned and comfortable for falling heads and other body parts! It's machine washable - now that IS useful!
Everything comes apart and together without tools or fixings - it's just a question of inserting slider poles and pressing and clicking things in the right way, so it's easy to assemble and unassemble.
Why did I choose it ?
---------------------------
Lots of friends advised me to just buy a travel cot, instead of a playpen. It would have taken up a lot less space, but I went with the Babydan anyway - on the grounds that it is multi-purpose. It converts from a hexagonal playpen to a room divider, fireguard, or a stairgate.
What I didn't realise was that you can't actually have all of them at the same time. You could have the stairgate (but let's face it, who only needs one? Most stairs I've seen have a top...

Advantages: Extremely small, lightweight and easy to use Disadvantages: Nothing that can not be overcome easily
...only 27cm in diameter! Being the size of an average dinner plate when packed away it was so handy when our daughter was small (it is suitable from birth to when the child can sit up unaided, which was just over 8 months for our daughter). We could just sling it in her changing bag or over the pram handle and off we went!
When set up it measures 88 cm long by 54 cm wide, which is brilliant for a young baby as they often get upset in huge beds (or at least my daughter did), allowing the child to sleep comfortably. It comes with a soft , cotton covered mattress that just sits in the base allowing you to tuck in a standard crib/cot sheet to protect it; an integral zip-over mosquito net and loops in the top to hang your baby's favourite toy.
It is very simple to put up - the main body literally pops up, u just place the base in the bottom...

I rushed to HMV after university to buy "Change" and was very excited, wishing I could listen to it on the bus on the way back! I flicked through the booklet to see if we had some pretty new pictures of the girls. My personal favourite was the picture of more
