Advantages great back up pair of straighteners

Disadvantages not as good as my GHDs

I love doing my hair and find it a really relaxing and pampering experience, as I have mentioned in my previous review, I own a pair of GHD straighteners, because the GHD’s are so expensive however, I like to keep a cheap pair in the house that I can take with me on holidays or on nights away, just in case I lost my GHD’s or they broke in my suitcase.

After doing a little bit of research I decided to buy these Babyliss straighteners, partly because they were very cheap and partly because they have lots of great features that are similar to the GHDs.

Features

These straighteners heat up to 210oC at their hottest, which is quite impressive for a cheaper pair of stylers.

They also have ceramic coated plates, which stops hair from becoming frizzy and reduces the risks of hair splitting.

They also come with a 3 year guarantee, I have had mine for just over a year and they haven’t broken yet, though it’s nice to know if they stop working or fault, I can get a new pair sent to me.

My Opinion

I think that these are a really good pair of straighteners, however, I do think that the GHD’s are much better quality and much easier to use, I find the Babyliss straighteners very chunky and they make it quite fidgety to use sometimes.

Also my hair is quite thick and I find sometimes it can take quite a while for these straighteners to work though my hair, they are definitely not as good or as fast as the GHD’s however, with a little bit of perseverance, the job does eventually get done and they are much cheaper than GHD’s.

You cannot do any curling styles with these stylers, though I have a curling wand at home so this doesn’t really bother me.

Price and Availability

These are a very cheap pair of stylers, they cost just £10 in Debenhams at the moment, I picked mine up for £20 in BnM last year, so it’s probably best to shop around for these if you want a good deal.

Overall

I think that these straighteners are great value, they do not have the same quality standards as my GHD’s, though they do cost one tenth of the price of them, and they still straighten my hair and do their job, even if it does take a little longer. These are the perfect straighteners for me to take travelling and away with me when I stay over in different places. Overall I would give these straighteners 4 out of 5 stars.
