My old hair curler recently broke so I had to get a replacement, and frankly, it was a few years old and needed replacing anyway. It took me quite a while to decide which hair curler to get, but I eventually opted for the Babyliss Adee&Paul Pro Spirall 2291AU.

LOOKS The whole curler itself is a nice, sleek black and has a nice finish to it and doesn't look cheap or tacky at all. It was also a lot lighter than my old curler, despite it being larger. The heat setting is a small "scroll" type thing on the side of the handle and there are two buttons on the top of the handle, one for the on button and one for the off button. I've had problems in the past with straighteners turning off when you use them as the buttons are too easily pressed, however, the buttons on the curler are depressed into the handle and you have to press slightly harder, therefore there should not be any problems with it turning off by accident whilst curling your hair.
I just received the curler today, and being excited to try it out, I plugged it in straight away. Almost immediately, I was impressed with the thing.
There are 10 heat settings available and inside the information booklet, it provides a small table telling you which heat settings would be most appropriate depending on your hair type.
To turn it on you press the "on" button once, and a red indicator light flashes to say that the curler is heating up and will continue to flash until the required temperature has been reached. I was quite surprised as I found that it heated it very quickly at about 60 seconds or so (for heat setting number 8).
However, I did find that the metal bar/heat rest became fairly hot as well so you probably would not want to place it on any sensitive surfaces. I also found that the spirals on the curler were quite close together so it would be quite difficult to curl larger sections of hair. There is also a "cool tip" at the top of the curler, however, I often found that my fingers slipped up too far as there isn't a ridge or anything to stop your fingers sliding up near the heated part of the curler, so ouch! It's just a matter of getting used to it.
HOW DOES IT CURL? I found that the curler was very effective and with time, you could achieve a variety of different and stylish curls. It was quite different to my old hair curler so it would take some time getting used to it, but I'm very happy with the outcome. :)
In addition, the curler comes with 4 nice sectioning clips that work very well and make curler your hair much easier, especially if you have thick hair like I do.
OVERALL Advantages: - Long cord - Fast heat up - Curls nicely - 10 heat settings - Looks nice - 4 nice little sectioning clips
Disadvantages: - May burn your fingers at first as there the cool tip is quite slippery - Spiral guides are ever so slightly too close together for my personal liking
IN CONCLUSION... I found this product very effective and the advantages weighed out the disadvantages, however, as I have only recently got this product I will probably test it a little more and may need to update this review. I do however, recommend this product but the RRP (about £30) may be a bit much for most people. Have a look around and see :)
UPDATE 15/1108: I've given up on using the cool tip completely now - it isn't entirely necessary, plus I can't get used to using it without burning my fingers. I also found that when the curler is plugged in and turned on at the socket (but not at the switch), the handle of the curler gets warm even though the curler itself isn't even on.
