...decided to go with the Babyliss 5385 dry and shine ionic hairdryer.
It said on this box that the ionic button helped to protect your hair against regular drying and protects against heat. I decided to give it a go as my hair means the world to me and hate the effects that blow drying can have on your hair and also hate to have to use hair products to protect from this.
I was still dubious about changing my hair dryer but the first ... ...it said and dried my hair in half the time of my old hairdryer. Not only was it fast(it is a 1800w) but also left my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. Exactly what it said it would do but i was dubious about it.
This hairdryer has 2 control settings - warm and hot and also a cool shot button. It has the ions button which is recommended to turn on during the last few minutes of drying for optimum effect.
I am a right old fuddy duddy when it comes to buying new products and never want to part with my old ones. You know what they say "stick to what you know best!" Normally i put any items i want or need on my xmas or birthday list so i dont hae to make those big decisions of which brand with which features.
Anyway, my old hairdryer finally packed in and i had to make the trip to boots and decide on what hair dryer to purchase. AAAAARGH! The only downside to this haridryer is it is slightly heavier than my old one which can make your arm ache after drying even though it dries my hair in half the time of my old one. Oh well i guess it will help with my muscle building.
I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to protect their hair from daily heat drying without having to use excess hair products such as mousse or other styling / protection products.
It is a great price of £20.00 from boots and is also great if you collect advantage card points or use your points to purchase this product. For more info check out boots website at www.boots.com.
Advantages: Stops static hair Disadvantages: Not very powerful
...certainly recommend it. We've had babyliss hairdryers for years now and this is the best of the lot. It does exactly what it's supposed to and it comes with a free brush.

- I've seen better looking hairdryers, the colours are quite nice but the shape is a little bland. There's a large jet for the hot air and a small pipe shaped jet for the ions... which, by the way you can't feel if you put your hand ... ...* *

Advantages: Sleek, soft hair Disadvantages: Too heavy!
When my old hairdryer finally gave up the ghost, I decided to try an Ionic hairdryer. They promise to give sleek shiney hair by locking in the moisture and (best of all for those of us who resemble a dandelion gone to seed) they reduce frizz. I was a bit sceptical about the science of it...Using negative ions to break up water and reduce static on your hair sounded a bit too much like the pseudo-science employed by many hair-care marketers to me. ... ...hairdryers were about the same price as the normal ones....so I went for it- I've tried almost everything else on my hair!
The effect was amazing, my mid-length hair was dry in about 4 minutes and it wasn't at all frizzy like it normally is after drying. It was soft to touch and visibly shinier. Thanks to the 2-speed setting I was able to rough dry my hair with the fast setting then style it with the slower one afterwards, I didn't even need to ...

Advantages: Well it dries your hair! Disadvantages: Doesn't do what it says on the box. It's a hoax.
When I saved up enough money to actually buy some expensive GHD straighteners, I read a review about ionic hairdryers, persuaded that all this ionic-business baloney actually worked. Okay, perhaps it does but not with this product no. I thought an ionic hairdryer would save me ALOT of money being a trampy pauper in my time. Consequently I ended up buying this hairdryer for £23.00 at Boots when it was discounted and after using it once, I saw it made ... ...anymore shinier or softer or whatnot, just exactly the same and my arm died after using it. It features a two speed button (which is located in a stupid place because you always hit it when drying your hair), a cool shot button, the box also included a nozzle, a diffuser, a comb, some hair rollers, and lots of other girly items. Perahps it was my hair type, I don't know, but it really was a complete waste of money so I had to wrap all the package ...
