I would give the Babyliss Elegance Dryer 4 out of 5 as I have no complaints with its performance at all.
Available in Tesco, Boots, Argos etc. for around £25.
This Christmas was the first year I have received a Christmas gift from my son, which was chosen and paid for by him alone, with no help from dad. He's been working hard on his paper round all year and in the two weeks prior to Christmas he received over £300 in tips alone!! (I've been contemplating becoming a paper WOMAN!!) Naturally he was very proud to say he was going to do his Christmas shopping on his own.
I couldn't wait to see what he had bought me! Christmas morning came and I opened my present from my son and was over to moon to see a new hairdryer. Something I had been needing for a long time, the switch had fallen off of my old one so could only be switched on and off using the main socket and I couldn't change any of the settings.
The Babyliss Elegance 5560BU Dryer is a fairly large salon style dryer. It comes well packaged in a box along with a vent brush, a concentrator nozzle, a large jaw hair clip and super gold coloured drawstring holdall. The dryer itself is a classy deep bronze colour. The hairdryer boasts a 2000w motor for quicker hair drying, a heat balancing ceramic technology claiming to produce a frizz free shine with the ultimate smooth finish, a 1.8m no tangle swivel cord, an easy clean filter, a cool shot button and it also claims to be lightweight. It has 3 different heat settings and 2 speed settings.
What I Thought Of The Hairdryer
I love it! This dryer is really easy to control, the heat and speed settings are situated at the top of the handle and are controlled by 2 switches, which due to their positioning, are easily changed during the hair-drying process. The cool shot button is again situated in a great position, just to the top of the handle where my thumb is anyway, so it's easy to push the button for that blast of cool in order to retain the style. The no tangle swivel cord is a real bonus, no more tying myself up in knots whilst trying to style my hair. The filter is very easily removed, it just clips off and on for easy cleaning of the filter.
I have used this dryer on my own hair, which is very short, I am very pleased with the results and it certainly does dry my hair in record time, much quicker than my old one. I have also used this dryer to dry my daughter's hair, her hair is very long and very thick. Again, although her hair still takes a while to dry it does dry much quicker than with the last dryer and her hair is always beautiful and shiny when completely dry. I can't really say whether or not this is due to the new hairdryer or not, however, as her hair is always very shiny when it has just been washed.
My one and only complaint with this dryer would be the fact that I still find it quite heavy, not so much when I am drying my own hair, but more so when I dry my daughter's hair, my arm aches by the time I have finished. That is probably me just being a bit picky though, but it is advertised as lightweight and I really don't find it any lighter than any other dryer I have used.
