To be clear 'straight' is a relative term. I have had conversations with girls with naturally poker straight hair who were complaining that they wanted to straighten it more. To be clear 'straight' is a relative term. I have had conversations with girls with naturally poker straight hair who were complaining that they wanted to straighten it more. And to put into context I do indeed have hair that is neither naturally straight or curly, but somewhere annoyingly inbetween. Its also quite thick and I have slight layers cut in and a shaping around my face to 'take the weight out of it' as the hairdresser puts it. I do believe this technical jargon is what i pay for rather than the cut, but hey... These shorter bits often curl or frizz after i dry my hair, and even if it starts out looking ok as soon as ive gone outside its a mess again.
I honestly didnt know what to think about these hairdryers that straighten and dry, I thought either it wouldn't work or it would dry and damage my hair even more. But I needed a new hairdryer and the BEliss is 2000w while my old one was only 1800w, so i figured even if the straightening attatchment didnt work it might still be an ok hairdryer. And I find one for around £20 on amazon.co.uk.
It has 2 speed and heat settings, and 4 tension settings for the teeth, although I have only tried one of them. I found the hairdryer very compact and quite light, and all the settings were straightforward. But using the haridryer felt clumsy, I wasnt sure how to move the end through me hair despite the instructions. I think I just more practise though. Because my hair was clearly drying quickly and much straighter than usual. I finished it off with the concentrater nossle just to make sure it was all dry.
It took less than 5 mins for me (i have sholder length hair) and my hair was much straighter and smoother than normal. But as I began people have different definitions of straight and to be clear it is poker straight or anywhere close, and the results were hard to achieve at the back. For me it seems similar to how straight i get my hair when i used a brush to dry it straight only much quicker and easier. But then Ive never been very brush happy, and I know other people get their hair much nicer than i can get mine.
I would recommend it to people as its great value for money, and has a very beneficial effect. My hair is sleeker, tidier, and straighter, especially the frizzy bits around the front of my face. Its a little difficult to use, but even ham fisted I managed to produce good results. Although not exactly like the girls on the box.

Quick review of Babyliss 5720U Beliss 2X
this hairdryer is the best I have ever had!! I used it for the 1st time this morning and my hair is incredibly smooth and straight. Usually I would have to used a hairdryer (which would take forever to dry my hair since its soo thick and it would look like a total afro after) and then use my ghd's to battle through my HUGE doo! The only complaint I would have about this is the time it takes do get my BEliss-ious hair. It took me an hour but I think it might be something to do with the thickness of my hair! But anyway I would defentely recommend it to anyone whoo has to straighten hair!! Sooo people GET BUYING :-D! ...
