Water is a great cure-all. Whether you take it internally, or just choose to wash in it, it will do you untold good! Why else do you think small boys go to such lengths to avoid it?
We are now told we should drink about three litres of water a day to keep our bodies in tip-top condition. It certainly helps to flush out all the impurities we ingest in our diets and helps our poor kidneys to do a more efficient job of flushing us out! Three litres of water a day is difficult, but not impossible – it’s an acquired taste!
Another, more hedonistic way of ‘taking the waters’ is by indulging yourself in a Babyliss ‘Body Benefits’ Bath Spa. Unlike most spas which have to be built in at huge expense, the Babyliss Spa is completely portable and has a price to match.

Power comes from a safety transformer which reduces the voltage of the electricity to 12v – a safe level, even for bathrooms. The transformer should NEVER be taken into the bathroom but should be plugged into a socket in an adjacent room or hall. The Spa itself complies with all the relevant British and European safety standards and it is fitted with a special circuit-breaker plug which would immediately cut off the electricity supply in the event of a fault being detected. This plug should be tested before every use. This is a simple matter of pressing a button, hearing a click, then pressing another button. Simple!
The spa is supplied with a generous 4.5metres of special Safety Low Voltage cable which, in the event of someone tripping over it, will detach itself from the transformer.
Now to the spa, itself. In essence, it is a fully waterproof water pump which attaches over the side of the bath and is secured by a couple of suction pads. It is adjustable to fit most bath types. It certainly fits our old enamel bath which is anything but a standard size or shape!
Once fitted to the bath, you have to ensure that the water level comes above the level of the water jet outlet. Also, make sure that the outlet doesn’t get blocked with sponges or any other bath-time ‘accoutrements’. The spa is easy to operate with a simple push-button. The direction of the water can be varied as the outlet nozzle swivels to allow a wide possible area of water jet.
The variable control knob allows either for a ‘relaxing swirl’ of water round the bath or for a ‘whirl with invigorating bubbles’. Both are wonderfully relaxing!
Additionally, there is a detachable ‘hydro-massage’ attachment. With the pump unit switched off, the hose is attached to the water jet outlet and the water jet can be directed to whichever part of the body is most in need of massage. This is an excellent way of teasing out tense muscles and is most restful.
A word of caution! The massage jet is VERY powerful so please don’t be tempted to use it for ‘intimate purposes’. You could do yourself a serious mischief!

Bubble bath seems to last for ages with a spa which makes it even more fun for the children in the family! It is perfectly safe to use for children, although they recommend that the hand-held attachment is not used, mainly so that the water stays in the bath! Naturally, children should be supervised at all times when using the spa.
Because the pump unit is fully waterproof, there is not a problem if it falls into the bath. You simply switch it off, shake it out and start all over again!
A friend of ours recommended the Babyliss Bath Spa to us. He swears it has helped his chronic back problems. He was going to sell his to us when he traded it in for a newer model. However, he doesn’t rate the new model as highly so is hanging on to his old one! Fortunately, we managed to buy a factory reconditioned one for £39.99 which is a huge reduction on the normal price of around £70.
So far, it’s been bliss to use. In fact, I’m off to indulge myself right now!
Advantages: Makes your bath that little bit more luxurious Disadvantages: Noisy and not as powerful as expected
I was given one of these for Christmas after months of pestering and I really don't know what I was so excited about!
The bath spa attaches by suction pads to the side of the bath. A cable runs to the mains which has a safety plug (with transformer and circuit breaker) which you can test before you run your bath. This can be annoying as most people don't have plug sockets in their bathrooms and so you have wires trailing across the floor.
Run your ... ...the big button on the top of the spa. The unit has adjustable, dual nozzles to direct the flow of water and options for creating bubbly or swirly water (although I can't really tell the difference between the two). The Bath Spa fits most standard baths. The bath spa aims to turn your bath into a whirlpool/jacuzzi; the movement of the water massaging your skin. It is very relaxing, although the side of you lying closest to the unit gets most of the ...

Advantages: a nice sensation, relaxing Disadvantages: Nothing like a real spa
I bought the Babylis Bath Spa for myself as a present. It was coming up to Christmas time and I had just given birth to my daughter. I gave birth in under 3 hours with no pain relief and no noise (so my husband says - I wasn't aware of what was going on!) and so I felt I deserved a bit of pampering. We couldn't really afford it, what with a new born baby an all, but I thought "well why not", it is not everyday you give birth to a beautiful bundle ... ...back to the car, with my daughter sleeping soundly in a sling in front of me. When I got it home I unpacked it excitedly and got ready for that scintillating bath experience. Unfortunately, it was at this point that my daughter awoke. It was quite some time later when I eventually got the opportunity to try out my new toy.
The Babylis Bath Spa is a device which sucks up the water in your bath and then squirts it forcibly out of a filtered section ...

Right Babyliss bath spa....where shall I begin? With the cost I think. Really expensive even when you buy them in Argos or Index. The prices start from £44.50 for the basic model through to the cordless model for £66. I have the one in the middle identical to the cordless but with a cord! It cost me £55 from the Littlewoods catalogue.

The unit has two water outlets which lie under the water line swirling the water around the a tub creating a jacuzzi in your own bath. There is a slider switch on top of the unit in which one can select a swirl of water or bubbles. There is a light ...

...out and bought me the Babyliss bath spa.
This brilliant gadget simply fits over the edge of your bath and farts into the bath water for you.
You can set it to give you a relaxing ripple or to give you the maximum flatulence effect; whichever suits your needs at the time.
It comes complete with a hose attachment that you can use to reach otherwise unreachable areas, (I wont go into details). Suffice to say that if your better half is feeling nice ... ...asking for trouble!
Well the Babyliss bath spa comes complete with a safety transformer, a long lead and full instructions on how to test the safety cut off switch prior to each use, so nyer.
A word of warning though, never put large amounts of bubble bath in before turning on the spa, I did this and went to fetch a towel before going into the bath, when I returned the bubbles were meeting me at the bathroom door. After my wife gently chastised ...

I recently purchased this equipment to be able to have a nice relaxing soak and ease my back trouble. This bath spa is fitted with a special circuit breaker which is designed to cut off the mains if a fault occurs. To use the bath spa, you have to fit the unit over the rim of the bath side, making sure the pump is inside the bath and the fastening arm rests on the edge. There are 2 suction pads. One fits on the inside of the bath and the other fits on the edge. Slightly moisten the suction pads for added adhesion. The bath tub can then be filled to the required depth, making sure the water level reaches the "fill" line on the unit. ...

Advantages: Relaxing (ish) Disadvantages: makes fairly loud humming noise and takes up a lot of space
I brought this for my girlfriend for christmas as she was always asking for a massage, After searching on Amazon i found this bathspa which is both jaccuzi and a vibrating massager. I havent used this myself so i will let my other half do the review for me.
After receiving this as a christmas prezzy from my boyfriend it didn't take me 5 mins to open it up and hop in the bath with it. I was scared at first because the sucker pads on the back wouldn't stick to the side of the bath and i kept thinking it was going to fall in and i would be fried, so i wasn't that relaxed at first!
After settling in the bath i firstly switched it on to the water jet setting, it was a little disappointing as it wasn't very powerful but i didn't expect it to be a full on jaccuzi!!
Then i gave the vibrating massager a go, which is nice because ...

Advantages: is a pleasant relaxing sensation. good value Disadvantages: gives better bubbles in a shallow rather than a deep bath.
Today I?m feeling sorry for myself, not only have I got a torn ligament I?ve now come own with a stinking cold, and to top it all we were supposed to be going out. So I?m staying in and my technical mate has to go out.
There is really only one comfort; soaking in the bath, with some luxurious bubbles and a glass of wine. As I may be in there some time, in fact maybe until the man comes home and helps me out. So I have my wine, my book, a little bubble bath, plenty of hot water, and my bubble machines. It?s rather awkward, I must admit, having to get in the bath, then take off the bandage and the ?back slab? then run the water but it will be worth it.
The Babyliss 8025 Rechargeable BathSpa became an addition to my papering quite a bit back and it?s worth the £18 I paid for it. I haven?t got the packaging for this any more but I ...

Advantages: smoothness that lasts longer than shaving Disadvantages: can leave a bit of discomfort at first
Like many people I had been shaving for years using various products ranging from disposables, gillette razors and electric ladyshaves. I felt it was time for something new and as waxing or epilators didn't appeal to me I was very excited by this product when I first saw it.
It is very easy to use and not only gets rid of hair but removes dead skin too to leave healthy glowing skin. It was quite expensive around £40 so I was extremely happy to receive it as a gift.
Made by Babyliss, who are probably more well known for their haircare products and their wonderful bathspa, this was a bit of a surprise to me that it wasn't Braun or Philips - who are well known for their ladyshave products - that had brought out a product of this kind.
It comes with 3 spare pads which last a long time so there isn't constant extra spending like ...
