I started browsing the Babyworld site when I became pregnant with my daughter Emma, it was all new to me so I wanted to thoroughly research the different stages of my pregnancy, what items I would need to buy, what I could and couldnt eat and wanted further information on looking after my health. I also wanted somewhere where I could talk to other expectant mothers at the same stage of pregnancy as me so that I had someone I could relate to about ... ...all this and more!!
The majority of their website can be viewed without the need to register. However if you wish to join an antenatal club or use the discussion forums you will need to register. The good news is that it doesnt take long for a basic registration to use all the facilities. If you wish to add a profile, or pregnancy diary this is possible too and you can personalise your profile with a picture if you would like to.

Advantages: The support is second to none Disadvantages: none, unless you count it's addictivness?
The site is informative and fun. There is plenty for every one, and a discussion forum for probably everything you can think of including, trying to conceive, product talk, relationships and sex, feeling down to name a few of the 50 or so. I personally go on a number of the forums where you can find plenty of support for whatever might be your problem at the time or just to get some advice on products. One of my favourites is the ‘Your shout’ forum, ... ...fav part of housework” to “which of the friends cast would you sleep with and in what order” People actually post replies and it’s fun seeing how many people answer you. I posted one on there this morning about housework just after I had finished defrosting the freezer. No point talking to my husband about it, he doesn’t give 2 hoots if the freezer is defrosted or not!!!
We are just about to start trying for a baby so I also have a look (daily) ...

Advantages: Make friends, good information and reliable Disadvantages: Occasionally the site is down but VERY rarely
A long time ago and I’m talking about 3 years ago there was a site based on Mother and Baby Magazine and ran by a lady called Dani Zahr (I’m sure she wouldn’t mind the mention as she was lovely and as far as I’m aware still works on Mother and Baby Magazine although it’s been a long time since I emailed her or read the magazine). It was a brilliant site to be honest and was frequented by a lot of pregnant ladies (Like me at the time). One day the ... ...so good, where would we go? Well there were a lot of American sites and a few English ones although a lot of them weren’t much cop to be honest. Then I stumbled across Babyworld… and so my addiction begun. Here’s my op on a fantastic site for anyone who is trying for, expecting or has children already… Babyworld.co.uk. M xxx

Advantages: A vast cave of information Disadvantages: Trolls- people who post to cause trouble!
I first visited Babyworld when i was about 12 weeks pregnant. I found a real variety of uses of the site. There is a vast amount of imformation for parents and parents to be from product tests and best buys for baby to medical information. There are also many different forums where you can post questions on topics such as views on the news or premature babies, teen mums, pregancy and much moe. You name it, theyve got it. You can also help others ... ...a question you wnat answering then someone will give you an answer.
Occasioally you get 'trolls' visitng the forums to cause trouble but as the forums are all moderated then the offensive messages are quickly deleted.
The best bit has to be the antenatal clubs. You can join the club appropriate to you and 'meet' other mums due in the same month as you. I have made some brilliant friends and weve met up 'in real life' to! We can ask each other anything ...
