Bacardi Breezer's are one in a long line of the latest 'Alco pop' trend of drinks. Alco pop being a fizzy sweet drink, by the way. They are made with Bacardi rum and various different flavoured sparkling waters, depending on which colour you are drinking. I am lethal with a bottle of Bacardi in the house, I don't own a set of optics and by the time drink number three was consumed, wouldn't use them anyway. So for this reason Bacardi Breezer's seemed like a good option.
Launched in the United Kingdom in 1993 and with an extensive advertising campaign, The Latin Spirit drink soon took off. The idea taken from the bottle of beer, this drink comes in a handy glass bottle, just pull of the cap and drink. Well, some may prefer the rather more lady like pouring into a glass.
The usual way to buy these Breezer's is as a pack of four 275ml clear glass bottles with a cardboard sleeve holding them together. Although all of the different flavours are easily recognisable as Barcardi Breezer's, the colour of the packaging and indeed the contents of the drink, will vary. For instance, Cranberry has a red tone and Zesty Lemon, a yellow one. I believe that you can also buy a 10 pack of smaller 200ml bottles, although I have not seen these around for a long time. On the casing of these drinks the Bacardi Breezer Bat logo can be found, as well as information about the drink and the usual nutritional jargon is on the bottle itself.
A variety of flavours can found; Cranberry, Watermelon, Lime, Orange, Pineapple, and more recently; Zesty Lemon and Raspberry, which are half the sugar of the standard Bacardi Breezer. Not so common flavours also include Peach and Grapefruit. Whatever flavour you are drinking the alcohol content will be 5%, that's 1.4 Uk Units and we are advised to drink responsibly (I mean, who wouldn't?)
*****The Taste*****
I have tried several of these flavours and will attempt to give you my opinion on those.
Cranberry A sweet but not too sweet drink that does indeed taste of Cranberry. Could easily drink several.
Watermelon The same as Cranberry, but a little sweeter, still nice though.
Lemon/Zest Lemon. My favourite. Can drink all night, in a responsible way of course! Not too sweet, with a lovely refreshing Lemon taste.
Orange Yuk! Tastes like a children's drink of fizzy orange with a bit of Rum shoved in. I don't like this and would not buy even if it was the only flavour available.
Raspberry A little too sweet for me. Could enjoy drinking one or two but any more would be too sickly.
Nutritional information is for some reason based on 100ml even though the bottle is actually 275ml. A little deceiving I think. Energy 184KJ/44.1Kcal Proteins 0g Carbohydrate 3.7g Fat 0g Fibre 0g Sodium 0.026g
I buy my Bacardi Breezer's on-line at Tesco's. The full price is £4.47 for a four pack of 275ml bottles. However I try to be good and only buy when they are on a special offer, which I have to say is quite often at Tesco. These drinks are widely available for an average price of £5.00, from super markets or other stockists of alcohol. Although it is worth noting that not all flavours are always stocked.
*****My Thoughts*****
I normally have a stock of these drinks in our beer fridge. I find that Bacardi Breezer's are an extremely convenient drink which goes down very easily. I like the flavour of them and although the alcohol can't be strongly detected in the taste, be warned they can get you just as tipsy as any other tipple. They are an ideal drink for an evening out and I believe that it is safer to drink from a bottle, reducing the risk of something being slipped into your drink. I know that some men do drink these, but I think that they are still predominantly something for the ladies. They are not bad value if you can get a special offer, but otherwise a bit pricey, and if you order one in a pub… you could pay £4.00 for one.
Guests don't often refuse one when offered either!

...a nice ice cold chilled bacardi breezer while smelling the steak slowly cooking on the bbq.
I love my drink and during hot weather,i prefer light drinks that refresh me.I normally drink red wine, but during a heat wave, there is nothing like a chilled lager or a Bacardi Breezer. As you probably already know,Bacardi make white rum, which i love and i always have a bottle of it in the house.Bacardi now make alco-pops drinks now in trendy 275ml bottles. They ... ...logo on the front and bacardi breezer in big black letters underneath it.Then it says Rum Refresher under that. The bottles are 275ml and 5.1% alcohol. They are 1.5% uk units per bottle,so alot stronger than you think,so dont tip too many back ;-).Theses drinks are a mix of Bacardi rum, fruit juice, exotic flavours and sparkling water. They have a cap which just pulls off with a bottle opener and are quick and easy to open(which is good for me)
I normally ...

Advantages: A nice refreshing drink Disadvantages: Rather too sweet
...were selling three packs of Bacardi Breezers for £10 as a special offer – that’s twelve 275ml bottles, which is pretty reasonable! So we bought some last Saturday.
The bottles are made of glass, fairly simple in design but classy enough, with the famous bat logo. They are ‘Rum Refresher’ drinks containing 5.4% alcohol and represent 1.5 UK Units. Besides the rum, the drink contains sparkling water and fruit flavours. It is ... ...6/10
I found Bacardi Breezers were obviously alcoholic, with the effects being noticeable after just one bottle. I had two bottles one night and it made me very sleepy. I don’t think I could have drunk more than two really. That’s why this opinion took me all week to research and write!
Overall, I did enjoy them and would buy them again. They are nice and light, as well as being refreshing and easy to drink. I think they look ‘adult’ ...

Advantages: Something different, easy to drink, low alcohol level Disadvantages: Not for regular drinkers, not a session drink, too sweet
...in the U.K. in 1993, Bacardi Breezer is probably the only drink to have gained so much popularity and market share in such a short period of time.
Much of this popularity has been achieved thanks to the remarkable advertising policy, which I am sure that most of us are aware of.
The concept of the company was to create a credible alternative to beer. However after having these myself a few times I can tell you with all certainty that this is "No ... ...an alternative to anything.
Bacardi Breezer's come in 275ml glass bottles. Recently a 200ml bottle has been launched and these are available in a 10 packs and consisting of only Orange and Cranberry flavours.
The more regular 275ml glass bottles are available in a total of eight different flavours and these are; Watermelon, Cranberry, Orange, Lime, Pineapple, Peach, Lemon and the latest edition Ruby Grapefruit.
The two flavours that I've tasted ...

Advantages: lots of tasty flavours to choose from Disadvantages: not all taste alcoholic so you need to be careful not to drink too many
Launched in 1993-4 bacardi breezers are supposedly available in 8 flavours, although as you will see below I haven’t actually managed to find all 8 to try (I almost managed it!) The flavours which (supposedly) exist are: Watermelon, Cranberry, Orange, Lime, Pineapple, Peach, Lemon, Ruby Grapefruit.
Each of these comes in a 275ml clear glass bottle with labels bearing the bacardi logo and details of the drink you have chosen. Each drink has its own ... ...Admittedly this flavour of Bacardi Breezer isn’t my favourite as I find the rum over powers the flavour a little too much for my taste.
Cranberry: My favourite flavour – this is not a drink for the faint hearted. Cranberry is a good strong flavour, and not an overly sweet taste. I personally find it extremely refreshing and tasty, but I do know many people find this flavour drink too tart for their tastebuds. (if you like the taste of Cranberry’s ...

Advantages: many flavours, widely available Disadvantages: Can be sweet and expensive
Summer is here - and Barcardi Breezer.is the perfect drink to serve chilled at your dusk BBQ‘s! The kind of drink that’s perfect for every occasion; suitable for both men and women, day and night.. (have you noticed I like it yet?!)
Anyway, Barcardi Breezer - If you purchase this drink in a club or bar, it can prove quite expensive - at around £2 - £3.50, however if you look around, Local Off Licences often sell it for as little as 99p a bottle. ... ...and such- so if you’re passing through have a look! Barcardi Breezers can be bought in singles or four packs.
The bottles are simple and made of glass (although recently in a club I was given a plastic one - maybe I look dodgy!) anyway... they contain the ‘Bat Logo’ - instantly recognisable as the Breezer Logo.
The bottles are 275ml, and the alcoholic percent is 5.4%. However - I have discovered that Breezers now come in smaller 200ml bottles, ...

Advantages: Better for you than the full sugar drinks Disadvantages: Doesnt have the same taste
Well i used to love the BacardiBreezer, just the normal one though! I once tried the one with half the sugar and i really did not enjoy it, it had very little taste and when you compared the tastes of the 2 same drinks, (just one was the one with half the sugar) you could tell straight away what one was what! I would prefer to pay the same price for the one with the better taste and lets face it, your doing enough damage to your body drinking alcohol so there is no point in worrying about how much sugar you are taking in! Unless you are diabetic that is and then that is a different story ...
Advantages: It has alcohol in it Disadvantages: Lack of flavour, too fizzy, not alcoholic enough.

Groan
Deciding that it was in fact the grown up thing to do, I decided to get my mother a card and chocolates for her birthday despite being mightily unimpressed with her. At the same time I thought I would go and grab myself a four pack of blue wkd?s. This of course would be too much to ask. They only had twelve packs, which, thanks to sky, I cannot currently afford. They did, however, have ONE four pack of Blueberry BacardiBreezer. I decided to just give in and take it.

Available since April this year , but only just discovered by me in my local supermarket , the new Bursting Blueberry has now replaced BacardiBreezer Cranberry , a traditional Christmas season favourite .
It joins the other Half Sugar variants of Zesty lemon, Refreshing Rasp-berry and Crispy Apple , aimed at the diet-crazed , health conscious Summer market , and all of which were launched with great success last May .
This welcome addition to the Bacardi stable is an unexpectedly subtle and simple blend of Bacardi Rum , Blueberry flavour , sparkling water , sugar and sweeteners , moving away from ...
