Review of Russell Hobbs 12620 Simply by tartlette83

Advantages: Makes yummy smoothies, small, blends well
Disadvantages: Tap is rubbish, stirrer to short

...One day a few weeks ago the other half came home with a certain brand of smoothie drink for us to try. I was really impressed by the taste but when he told me that it cost £3 for one cartoon I became a little distressed! As his birthday was coming up I decided that it would be more economical to invest in a smoothie maker. After a lot of agonising I plumped for the Kenwood 12620 Simply Smoothie. It was one of the top rated smoothie makers on Amazon. WHAT ARE SMOOTHIES: I'm sure that you will all know this, but smoothies are basically fruit, blended until (yes you guessed it!) smooth! Smoothie makers also make juices and thickies (with yoghurt etc in them). PRICE: I paid £29.99 for the Simply Smoothie from Amazon, so I'm guessing it may be slightly more elsewhere. WHAT'S IN THE BOX? Good question. Well, on arrival the other... Read review

Great way to eat more fruit, easier than a blender
Review of Kenwood Concert Smoothie Maker SB256 by hollypopple

Advantages: Volume marks on side, and mix, smooth and pulse functions
Disadvantages: Too tall for dishwasher, tap sometimes drips after use

...This smoothie maker plugs into the mains and can make smoothies using a variety of fruits (including fibrous ones such as pineapple and mango). You can also add extra ingredients such as yoghurt, milk, honey, oats, water, ice cubes, frozen fruit, ice cream or fruit juice. A sceptic would say that a smoothie maker is basically a glorified blender and that you can make equally good smoothies using a normal blender or food processor. I largely agree with this, but the Kenwood smoothie maker has a couple of extra features: 1. There is a hole in the top and a stirrer that fits through the hole. This enables you to stir the contents while the smoothie maker is switched on, making sure no bits get stuck to the sides away from the blade. 2. There are markings on the side showing you how full it needs to be to make different quantities. 3... Read review

Go on, chuck it all in.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review of Kenwood Concert Smoothie Maker SB256 by spottydog2

Advantages: Simple to use.
Disadvantages: Cleaining afterwards.

...made things much easier. It also contained the usual literature accompanying the product, inviting you to register your purchase with the chance to win £10000. There were afew smoothie recipes on this. There was also a separate booklet containing 27 recipes in colour to get you started. I found this useful as it gave me ideas, though I do tend to just use what I have if I think it will taste right. Getting started. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Basically, using the smoothie was very simple. You need to put the fruit into the goblet first (not frozen) up to the level marked liquids, either 2 or 4 servings. Then the ice cream can be added if required or ice or frozen fruit, up to the frozen level. You press the mix button first for up to 30 seconds and then the smooth button. This can be pressed for as long as you desire (it doesn`t take long... Read review
