Advantages: Tasty and creamy Disadvantages: Goes far too quickly
Anyone who knows me will wonder why I am writing a review about anything to do with coffee, because I just don't drink the stuff, well maybe once a year if I happen to be somewhere where there isn't tea on offer.
But Baileys were giving away a free sample of their new flavour, which just happened to be coffee, and being the sort of person who never turns down a freebie, I thought I'd give it a go.
Nutritional Information
I haven't got any nutritional information to give you because there's nothing on the bottle, but it's a cream liqueur so I doubt it's a slimming product!! The alcohol content is 17% by volume, so it's not a very strong drink.
The Bottle
The bottle looks very similar to the Carmel Baileys bottle, in fact at a distance you might be hard pushed to tell the difference, it's only when you get up ...
Advantages: occasionally funny, well performed musically with great stage effects Disadvantages: much of the new material isnt funny, frequently recycles old material
As a huge fan of Bill Bailey, I had high expectations for 'Tinselworm' after the hilarious 'Part Troll', but Bill's newest dvd left me feeling very disappointed indeed. Bill's career has been going from strength to strength of late, his hard-won and much deserved popularity culminating in this, his latest dvd, in which he takes his latest tour to Wembley for his first arena performance. Inevitably, the intimate feel is lost, and combined with the lukewarm nature of his new material the whole show feels like Bill Bailey dumbed down for the masses. His clever, surreal and often philosophical material doesn't translate well to an arena setting, and his performance often seems forced, as if he is uncomfortable but doing his best to put on a brave face.
Much of the material is recycled from his previous shows; a comedic reworking ...
Advantages: Tasty and not too potent! Disadvantages: Not my fav drink!
on where you buy your Bailey's from and at what time of year, a 1lt bottle of Bailey's costs around £15, a 75cl bottle is around £10, and a miniture bottle costs around £1.50-£2.
Taste
Bailey's isn't my favourite drink, but when it is Christmas, I do usually have a small bottle (75cl) in the house, and do have a few shots of it, usually after dinner. I find if I am drinking it all night it get's very sickly, and you cannot mix it with anything so tends to be a very quick (and very expensive drink when drinking in a pub).
I find that Bailey's has a coffee kind of taste to it as it is, so I didn't think I would be able to taste the coffee in this drink much. Having tried both the Mint and Caramel variety (and I couldn't really taste all that much difference), so I decided this time I would go out and buy a small bottle of normal ...
