2001 Ford Ranger Pickup
Review of Ford Ranger Pickup 4x2 by

Advantages: Awesome fuel economy
Disadvantages: Small pickup - small loads, Winter driving requires carefull driving habits
...I have a 2001 model year Ranger, two wheel drive. It has a standard cab and the short bed. The engine is a 3.0 liter V-6 and the transmission is a five speed manual overdrive. The only other options this truck has is cruise control, towing package and air conditioning. This truck has been getting awesome fuel economy. It doesn't tow as much as the mid size SUV I had, but the fuel economy far outweighs it's towing capacity.
While towing my 5x8 utility trailer (empty weight of 780 lbs) with my lawn tractor, a push mower and trimmer - the Ranger does well. It typically gets 24.3 mpg. Being empty and using the cruise control set to 60 mph on the open highway, the Ranger easily gets up to 28.7 mpg....

Review of Ford Ranger 2.5 TDdi by

Advantages: all in one car/truck, fuel economy, very good interior quality
Disadvantages: the length when trying to park in park and shop bays
...having looked at all the rival twin cab models, we found this to be the best value for money, the 2007 model is an improvement on earlier models, within a couple of weeks of buying it hubby took it over to germany, and it gave him a good drive down to the black forest region, i have used it for horse supplies, taking daughter back to college with all her various junk (shhhh i didnt say that) compared to my 2.5lt cherokee the fuel consumption is terrific, this is an improvement on earlier models mainly due to the new 2.5-litre Duratorq engine., as well as being a work horse it makes a good family car, especially ideal for us as we take my disabled mum out with us....
