I have always been a fan of Baileys ever since I can remember and to hear about them launching the new Biscotti flavour, definitely got me excited. I have literally tried all of the new flavours that they have released and am always happy to see them being experimental with the drink rather than keeping it the same. The drink has been released just this month so, to some of you this may be news to you but it has come just in time for Christmas and being another nicely sweet flavour, it is one we will all have to get in for the Christmas parties ahead.
Now, with this product when I first heard about it, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a drink or if it was going to be actual biscuits. So, when I saw you could get a free sample online, I had to sign up and put my mind at ease and it finally arrived. It was in fact a drink and when I saw it in Tesco the other day I was happy it was now available for purchase. The drink has an alcohol volume of 17% which is very high but you don't really drink Baileys all of the time or constantly, I usually have a glass every so often as a wind me down treat.
I opened up my bottle which was very easy as it is only a screw top. It smells very heavily of a sweet liqueur and has that nutty sort of hint to it which is odd but it does smell great. I always serve my Baileys on ice and so this is what I did with this as it is the best way to drink it. The drink is the usual light warm brown colour and you don't need too much at all, just enough really. On my first sip of the drink it was strong but it has that smooth velvet like consistency to it which I love so much. The taste isn't too strong and I really enjoy it, it is quite strong when you first drink but in a warm way and you get that sweet taste but then it goes down and you warm up instantly and get that nice creamy aftertaste which I have to be honest didn't seem different from the original. This drink is meant to be Baileys with a Biscotti hint, like the Italian biscuits but I really found it hard to pick up on that flavour as it really just tastes like normal Baileys to me.
I do really like this drink but don't think I'd go out of my way to buy the Biscotti one which is a bit more expensive when I can't really notice the flavour that you pay more for. It is a very nice drink and maybe everyone should try it once but I think I'll buy the original as when I bought the Hazelnut one I noticed that flavour but was a bit disappointed here that I didn't.If you do fancy buying a bottle of this just to see for yourself what it is like or if you want to buy it as a gift for a Baileys fanatic then Tesco are selling this for £13.84 for the 70Cl bottle which isn't the cheapest but it may go on offer soon, hopefully. If you live near a Bargain Booze store then they are selling this ever so slightly cheaper for £13.29 for the same sized bottle.
