Bailey’s has to be one of my favourite drinks ever. Not only does it taste really nice, but it gets you very drunk very quickly and tastes delicious.

Ive always got copious amounts of alcohol in my alcofrol cupboard (note to people that’s a deliberate spelling mistake for emphasis factor only) and currently it is stocked with three HUGE bottles of Bailey’s, which various people have given me as presents…im easily pleased!

(“,) History (“,)

Bailey’s has been around since 1974 and was born in the lovely Irish town of Dublin.

Celebrating its 30th Birthday this year in November, Bailey’s is still the number one selling liqueur brand in the world.

(“,) Taste (“,)

What makes it taste so refreshing, well Bailey’s is made up from Irish Whisky, fresh dairy cream and as the bottle says ‘other Irish ingredients and its alcohol content is 17%.

The greatest thing about Baileys is that once it has been opened, if it is stored correctly i.e. not in direct sunlight because the cream will curdle, it will last for 24 months, so there is no need to drink your way through a whole bottle the second it is open.

Bailey’s is a lovely thick texture and is very chocolaty in colour, renowned as a ‘girlie’ drink by my male friends; I can assure you they love it just as much as I do. One word of warning, never drop a shot of Baileys into a pint of beer – it curdles and erupts, stick to the sambuca!

Anyway, back to the taste, there is a hint of whisky in the aftertaste, which leaves a warm feeling at the back of your throat and being mixed with dairy cream it leaves a nice feeling around your mouth as it travels down your throat.

Oh and girls there is 50% dairy cream in a Bailey’s bottle which gives you a whopping 120 calories – ouch how evil!

(“,) me me me….(“,)

So why do I like it? The rude bit comes later, but for now…

Baileys is very versatile and can be used in a variety of ways. Cocktails are one example. Baileys is used in various drinks, for example:

(1) B52 – A shot guaranteed to get you drunk rather quickly if you drink lots of them.

It contains 1 shot of Grand Marnier, one shot of Bailey’s and one shot of Kahula and for those people who are pedantic, one shot is 35ml.

To make this you simple add the ingredients as listed into a shot glass and down it in one :o)

(2) Irish Flag – now if I were to have Bailey’s with anything else then I would choose to have an Irish Flag.

I had this in Ibiza just last summer in a lovely little bar called the ‘Funky Lizard’, and the waiter was a gorgeous Irish man called Ronan who used to make us all laugh when we played Jenga very drunk.

Anyway the ingredients are – 1 shot Crème de Menthe, 1 shot of Bailey’s and 1 shot of Brandy. Note to the lightweights…don’t do it!

Now in order to get this drink spot on you have to do the following (Ronan demonstrated it every night). Put the Crème de Menthe in first to resemble the green part of the Irish flag, then add the Baileys and finally float the Brandy on the top, if poured correctly it will float on the top.

The three colours – green, white and orange then represent the Irish Flag hence the name and it is absolutely divine.

(3) Baileys Irish Latte (Posh Coffee) – 1 shot of Baileys, 1/3 of your mug filled with coffee and then some steaming hot milk.

Add together and voila a delicious new way to try your coffee, although not during the hours of 9am to 5pm when you should be working, not flying round your office.

(4) Over Ice – Quite simply, get a class, add in as many ice cubes you like and then add copious amounts of Baileys and get very drunk :o)

(5) A Screaming Orgasm – One of my favourite cocktails. Add one shot of Vodka, one shot of Kahula (which is very similar to Ti Maria) and then add one and a half shots of Bailey’s and then mix together and pour over some crushed ice for the perfect cocktail.

*****RUDE ALERT RUDE ALERT*****
Well you seriously didn’t think I could write something as simple as a review on Bailey's and not add anything risqué did you? Well i have done and im sure you'll all be doing it soon!

All you need is one bottle of Bailey's and it doesnt matter which size and your partner. Simple.

** Setting the scene **

So you have got your partner alone finally and you want to spice up your love life, you want something new, something imaginative but at the same time, you want something you’ll both not only remember but will be able to repeat…(I can see you all nodding vigorously).

Right whack the Baileys in the Fridge for a few hours to lightly chill it, do not under any circumstances stick it in the freezer, it wont be appreciated!

Get your partner and peel off one another’s clothes, rescue Bailey's from the fridge, now it doesn’t matter who is up for it more, its one of the horniest things to do either way…TRUST ME.

Dribble the Baileys from the chest to the nether regions and then slowly work your way from top to bottom nibbling, licking and sucking all the way down… its guaranteed to get you breakfast in bed at least!!

Right back to normality.....

(“,) The Bottle (“,)

The bottle is black in colour and is recognisable by the Baileys label which is Green, Gold and Red with the word ‘Baileys’ emblazoned across the front.

Baileys comes in a variety of sizes. I prefer the Litre sized bottle, which I buy every time im sent to a foreign country for work purposes and in the Duty Free Shop on the way home from Croatia, a Litre bottle was £9.99 and you got one free. A very happy Kappaslappa.

Then you have your average 700ml sized bottle and then finally there is a small wee bottle, which retails at anything from £10 to £12 again depending on where you buy your alcohol.

(“,) Other products (“,)

Bailey's is also available in Haagen Daz ice-cream (oh and this is a big yes for me too….). Then there is also a selection of chocolates, which mainly consist of truffles. Bailey's Mini’s which I always have in the fridge for those moments im in need of a strong drink and finally there is ‘Bailey’s Glide’ which is a relatively new product which is blended with Vanilla and again is delightful, but i prefer 'normal' Bailey's.

(“,) More information (“,)

Bailey's does have a website which can be found at www.baileys.com and there you will find everything you need to know about Bailey's and more.

There is a recipe section which seems to be under construction currently (well it wasnt working when i went to look just now) and there is also a section called ‘Cocktail Lounge’ which features a lot of ways to use Baileys in Cocktails, including some of the ones I have mentioned.

For further information you can ring a free phone number on the bottle 0800 787811 and Bailey's is manufactured by Morgan Furze Ltd.

Interesting to say the least - do you add the ice before or after applying to nether regions???
