Baileys Irish Cream. I'm sure you've heard of it, a fabulous whiskey liqueur made with loads of cream. It's a satin lovers delight which is (if you know me) why I love it so!
If you have never tried Baileys then I hope I can tempt your senses. Baileys is akin to the insides as wearing satin skimpies (knicks, nighties, satin lined skirts) or frolicking about on satin sheets. If you've never worn satin and can't afford the sheets, then just try some Foamburst in the shower instead (Imperial Leather shower gel ->foam). Love satin, love Baileys, that's my mottto!
Baileys Liqueur Born in 1974, in deepest Dublin, Baileys was the first cream liqueur of its kind. It was a pretty instant success but has grown in popularity over the years. Around 150 000 bottles are now produced on a daily basis and it is the world's best selling liqueur which surprises me a little as
there are also loads of cheap imitations. Personally, I just cannot bring myself to buy the cheaper brands in case they don't match up. Waste of a fiver if so.
Baileys Is.... a blend of cream and whiskey and contains no preservatives or additives. The fact that it is extremely fattening might put some off, but then this is not the sort of drink you consume by the pint (unless you are Tommy, Charlie Dimmock's sidekick, who I heard has a fetish for the stuff). If you need to know, per 37g serving (as if youre going to be so precise...!!) Baileys contains:
Because Baileys contains cream, it should be stored correctly, away from direct sunlight and below 35 degrees C. If you have constant room in your fridge (fat chance in our house), Baileys recommend that you keep your bottle refrigerated. Apparently if the bottle is subject to lots of temperature changes your Baileys will go lumpy. Satin and lumpy...no no no. However Baileys does keep for 2 years, once opened you should drink up within 6 months.
Baileys Bottles... The bottle of Baileys is a distinct shape, bulbous at the bottom and made of dark brown glass. The label is brown, buff and green. The liquid is aptly buff coloured (see below for my reasoning). It come in a variety of bottles including miniature, 70cl and 1 litre. There are also a good variety of gift boxed sets around at Christmas time which include extras such as Baileys glasses or light up ice cubes. It sells for around £10-£18 for the 70cl / 1 litre bottles.
Baileys on Ice. The best way to drink Baileys is on the rocks but it is also great blended with ice cubes as a crushed ice drink. It's lovely without ice as well. There are a huge variety of cocktails and tall drinks that can be made with Baileys and if you fancy trying a few, look no further than www.baileys.com
Baileys for Me... What words spring to mind when you think of Baileys?Screaming orgasm perhaps if you're a cocktail connoisseur or maybe the snoggy television ad for the drink where a guy kisses someone in the dark..the lights come on and a guy and a girl are both drinking Baileys...mysterious.
For me, Baileys means satin, creamy, silky, sexy, sophisticated, girly, Christmassy and last but by no means least, bathtime.
Baileys is Sexy I've liked Baileys for as long as I can remember but in recent years Baileys has become known as a sexy drink attributable I think not to the snoggy TV ad but to the Sex In the City sponsorship. Remember that? Fountains and lava flows of Baileys all over the screen before the show? I can't help thinking someone had a lot of fun making that.
Anyway, Baileys is a sexy drink. I know this from chatting to some friends at a party. We were discussing and tasting the whiskey my friend Johnny was drinking. I said I didnt like the taste much but I did like Baileys. Whilst another friend went to the bar to buy me one, I happened to mention to Johnny that I drank mine in the bath. He looked surprised, amazed and grinned a reply 'Susie, that's a fantastic confession'. I was amused, Johnny is the icon of style. Also perplexed, I wondered to myself, surely everyone drinks theirs in the bath too...?
Baileys for Girls I can't help thinking that Baileys is a girly drink. Sorry lads. Baileys are obviously aware of this and are trying hard to reverse this with their new TV ad featuring a guy called Lewis who is having trouble with his ice balls. He resorts to pouring Baileys into the ice bucket and drinking from it with the aid of a straw. Giggling girls watch on.
A Taste of Christmas Festive season, festive Baileys. It's a perfect drink for a cold winters night and being satin smooth with a fiery kick, it slips down your throat really too easily. It doesn't taste at all like neat whisky but it does taste creamy and hot as you swallow it. Taste and see for yourself. Yum!!
Baileys for Bathtime This is the perfect relaxation. A glass of Baileys in a bath of bubbles. A glass of Baileys in the buff (well it is buff coloured)! You just can't beat it ....
...but then on second thoughts perhaps you can. Baileys is satin for the insides, perhaps bathing IN Baileys would be even better. If I ever strike it rich, I'll try it and let you know...watch out for a review called Bathe me in Baileys!
Thanks for reading and Cheers!

Advantages: Good quality, Decent value for money, A fresh twist on Baileys Disadvantages: I would have liked the chocolate flavourings to be a bit more pronounced
