Baileys is one of my favourite drinks. When I drink at home, I usually have a glass of wine a couple of times a week, or sometimes, I treat myself to a little glass of Baileys.... so when I saw an advert for "Baileys with a hint of Coffee" I thought i'd give it a shot! And at the end of the advert it said "claim your free sample here" and quoted the Baileys website, I must say I have never moved quicker!
3 weeks later my 15cl bottle arrived.....
What is Baileys? Baileys is an Irish Cream liqueur and has been well known on the market since 1974. It contains a mixture of Irish Whiskey and cream. It is best drunk with cold ice, as a shot in coffee (instead of your milk/cream) or as part of a Cocktail. Once opened, you need to keep the Baileys refrigerated.
Baileys have a staggering 17% alcohol in each bottle, so it is best to drink in moderation, its not really a drink you can have all night, maybe just as a night cap!
What flavours do they offer? Baileys have recently introduced Baileys with a hint of Coffee, which is the product I am reviewing today. They also offer Original, With a hint of crème caramel and with mint. There is also a Baileys flavour ice-cream made in conjunction Häagen-Dazs, and Ben and Jerry's have Bailey's Irish Cream in their "Dublin Mudslide" ice cream.

Packaging Baileys have different size bottles, 1 litre, 75cl and the miniature sample bottles of 15cl. All packaging is the same apart from a different colour on the logo for each flavour. The Coffee Baileys is very similar to the Original labelling. It features the Baileys logo and banner, then simply with the flavour of the Baileys.
The 1 litre bottles are made from glass, so are quite heavy, as are the 75cl. The 15cl sample bottles are made from a tough plastic. All have screw top lids which help to keep the Baileys fresh once opened. I find the bottles are simple but effective, they don't have too much information on so you drown in it. On the back of the bottle is the alcohol percentage, and the ingredients (the ones on my sample bottle are in German so not very helpful!)
So... what does it taste like? As mentioned Baileys is one of my favourite "treat" drinks. I can usually only ever have around 2 small glasses (pub size measures), after this it can tend to get a little sickly, you need to remember you are essentially having a glass of tasty cream, so drinking in moderation will be better for your weight and your liver! I usually drink it by itself, it cannot be mixed with any mixer (cola, lemonade etc) else it curdles. I sometimes have a treat and pop a splash in a coffee, then the taste is very mild.
The taste of coffee in this version is very subtle, it reminds me of the coffee chocolates you find in Milk Tray etc. It smells similar, but the taste is not as overpowering. When I tasted it, straight away I tasted Baileys original, then the coffee came after a couple of seconds. I really enjoyed it! If you enjoy Baileys and weak coffees, then this is perfect for you!
What does it look like? The same as Original Baileys! If you have not had this, then I can describe it to a light brown milk, very creamy looking and quite thick.
Would I recommend? Yes! I would recommend Baileys with a hint of Coffee to anyone. I really enjoyed it! If you enjoy Baileys and weak coffees, then this is perfect for you! The price can come across as expensive, but considering the shelf life, its perfect for a treat once a month or on special occasions. I usually have two 1 litre bottles bought for me at Christmas (everyone knows I'm a fan!) and now in November, I still have a bottle left. Do what I did with Baileys Coffee.... try before you buy! Visit the Baileys website and claim a free sample, freebies are the way forward!!
Advantages: Tasty and not too potent! Disadvantages: Not my fav drink!
...== Introduction == Bailey's is the popular Irish Cream liqueur, which contains Irish Whiskey and Cream. Over the last few years, Bailey's have started adding a little something extra to their liqueurs by adding a "hint of mint", a "hint of caramel", and now a "hint of coffee". Bailey's has an alcohol percentage of 17%, which I was shocked at as this seems like quite a low percentage really, I thought it was around 30%. But I was mistaken! Advantages: Tasty and creamy Disadvantages: Goes far too quickly
Anyone who knows me will wonder why I am writing a review about anything to do with coffee, because I just don't drink the stuff, well maybe once a year if I happen to be somewhere where there isn't tea on offer. But Baileys were giving away a free sample of their new flavour, which just happened to be coffee, and being the sort of person who never turns down a freebie, I thought I'd give it a go. ===Nutritional Information === I haven't got any ... ...the bottle, but it's a cream liqueur so I doubt it's a slimming product!! The alcohol content is 17% by volume, so it's not a very strong drink. === The Bottle === The bottle looks very similar to the Carmel Baileys bottle, in fact at a distance you might be hard pushed to tell the difference, it's only when you get up close that you can see that it has Coffee written underneath the swirl picture (the pictures are different, but again very similar ...

Baileys with a hint of coffee, for me is a fail. I looked at the advert, and it looked really nice, so I thought I'd get it. What a waste of money that was! Firstly it smelled terrible, it was enough to make me gag! So I thought i'd trust the good reviews it had and I got my glass and poured it out on top of some ice (which is how most people drink it, i assume). I liked the colour, it reminded me of iced cappuccino or something similar, which I ... ...cannot explain the horrible sensation I felt as it went down my throat. I still felt it go down my body afterwards, it was actually a horrifying experience. I only drank a little bit and i had a horrible headache afterwards. I don't know if this one had an error in it or something but i dare buy another one. I was shocked. It looked so nice on the adverts, but they are misleading aren't they! Waste of money. If your not fond of drinking, or very ...

Advantages: great taste, luxurious Disadvantages: very bad for you
It's approaching that time of year again when I stock up on the alcohol in my house for the festive period. Number one on my shopping list is always a bottle of BaileysIrishcream. A couple of years ago I noticed a number of different varieties to my usual 'original' bottle had appeared, including with a hint of coffee, caramel and my new favourite mint chocolate.
Ingredients
BaileysIrishcream consists of Irish Whiskey, Irish spirits and, unsurprisingly, cream. This is flavoured with mint an d dark chocolate flavouring to give a luxurious, festive, flavour. This leads to a highly calorific, indulgent drink - with a 1oz serving containing 117 calories, 4.3g fat and 5.7g sugar, you feel that you should stick to small servings!
The drink
The baileys itself is a light brown, creamy colour - almost a toffee colour ...
Advantages: good value for money Disadvantages: drink is very thick
baileysirishcream so what is it???
Baileys is a unique irish drink that is very sweet, and it quite thick and creamy.
It is made up of Irishcream and whiskey and it also has hints of butter toffee, coffee, whipped cream, vanilla and chocolate.
the mint baileys however, has all the above ingredients but leaves a taste of mint chocolate in your mouth, almost as if you were eating mint chocolate icecream
Baileys is best served chilled or with ice but it can be served in a variety of ways, i.e in a cocktail, over icecream etc
As Baileys is only 17% in volume, its very easy to drink even thought it contains whiskey and i found it best to just sip it slowly in a meduim sized glass with some ice.
A typical bottle of Baileys is around 700ml and costs between £10-£15 which i think is quite good value for money as the 700ml ...
