Bakers complete is made by Purina and is available from Supermarkets and pet shops and is sold in various sizes from 1.5kg boxes and 3kg, 5kg, 6kg & 15kg bags
There was also a good selection of different flavours to choose from which were

As this is a dry food it is very important that your dog has fresh, clean drinking water always available to them.

As all dog owners know every now and again as your dog ages and changes the food that has been fed to them regularly will sometimes starts to disagree with them, this is what happened to my dog Holly. We have always fed her a mixture of canned food combined with some freshly cooked food but as I soon realised ,(due to the end product) her stomach was no longer tolerating the canned food. After a discussion with my Vet, (this was to make sure that there were no underlying health problems) he suggested I start experimenting with a complete dry food. When looking for a dog food you will also have to take into consideration their age, lifestyle, physique and exercise regime.
Certain breeds and sizes may also have special dietry requirements, so please do check that you chose the right food for your dog.

There was also a good selection of different flavours to choose from which were
Beef and Country Vegetables Chicken and country vegetables Lamb Rice and select vegetables Smokey bacon and Liver with select vegetables Rabbit and Duck medoly with select vegetables
They also make foods suitable for dogs with sensitive stomachs, senior in age and for those that need to lose some weight.
Knowing Holly is a big beef fan I thought we would try Beef and Country Vegetables first. I checked the ingredients and it contained "Cereals, Meat and animal derivatives (minimum 4% chicken beef and minimum 4% fresh meat in the soft moist kernel), Vegetable protein extracts, Derivatives of vegetable origin (1.1% charcoal in the dark brown kernel), Oils and fats, Various sugars, Minerals, Yeasts, Vegetables (minimum 4% vegetables in the green kernel). Contains EC permitted colourants, antioxidants and preservatives." I was happy this was a healthy mixture of food for her so I purchased a box.
Pouring the required amount of food into a bowl I noticed that the biscuits are quite small in size, this is perfect for her as she is a little girl and she eats very delicately, I next saw that each of the biscuits had a different shape, each shape has a different nutritional value. These are
Heart shaped for iron
Green circles for minerals
Club shaped for fibre
Bone shaped for calcium
Yellow circular shaped for energy
Moist meaty chunks for protein.
Would Holly enjoy them??? well lets see. I put a bowl down for her in the morning and what I have noticed is that she tends to pick at them all day rather than eat the whole bowl in one sitting. Her number one favourite is the meaty moist chunks as she always buries her nose into the bowl digging out those first, but the others all seem to go down well and there are only very few biscuits left in the bowl at the end of the day so I do feel happy that I have found a food for her that does not upset her stomach and she also enjoys eating. Checking out the end product !!!!!!!!!!, that also was normal and showed me that her diet is suiting her. Holly is a medium size dog so I followed the Feeding Guide suggested by Butchers complete which is
Size of Dog Grams of food per Day
Toy - 1kg-5kg 35g-115g Small - 5kg-10kg 115g-190g Medium - 10kg-25kg 190g-380g Large - 25kg-45kg 380g-590g Giant - 45kg-70kg 590g-820g

Holly has been eating the Bakers complete range for a few months now, I have also tried her on the other flavours available, and as yet I am happy that she enjoys them all and she has had no further upset stomachs.
The food once opened will need to be stored in an airtight container, but if you buy a 3kg sack or larger they have a resealable zip fastening which will keep the food fresh. Make sure that the food is within its use by date as the nutritional value cannot be guaranteed if this date has past.
Advantages: Lots of different bits in it. The dog likes it! Disadvantages: None.
...I then saw 'Purina Bakers Complete' for puppy/junior dogs from 6 weeks - 24 months or small adult breeds. I thought I'd try this and see what he thought of it. I bought just 1 box of this. For a 1kg box you will pay £1.76. (This is the same price in both Asda and Sainsbury's).
The box is predominantly light blue with a bowl of the contents on the front so you can see what you're getting. On the back of the box is the daily feeding guide and what each biscuit in the packet is.
There are, in fact, 5 different kinds of biscuits in the packet. Thankfully, they are tiny ones which is most probably why my dog likes them. I've got a Jack Russell you see, and only has a little mouth. (Big enough to bark with though!). But, he does like eating little bits of food.
The green bits ...

...considerably less money. We chose Bakers Complete by Purina for puppies/junior dogs up to 24 months old, mainly because it was more affordable but also because it was a brand name that we were aware of. There was only 1 flavour available in the 1kg box (cereal box size), and that was Beef and Vegetable, which cost £2.40 or 2 boxes for £4 at our local pet supply store.
The packaging does stand out from the competition. It is a vibrant blue box with ... ...small bite sized pellets which Bakers call kibbles of varying colours. The colours represent various food groups:
Yellow - Carbs for energy
Brown (Heart) - Iron supplement for healthy blood and breath
Brown (Meaty) - Protein and Fibre
Green - Vitamins and Minerals
Neutral colour Bone - calcium for strong bones and healthy teeth
Judging whether or not Amber likes one specific food more than another is difficult because she is still at the stage ...

Advantages: Full of Vitamins and Nutrients your dog require Disadvantages: None at all
...first tried my dog on Bakers Complete around four years ago and it has made my dog extremely happy and give him the ability to have a slightly normal life.
Sandy was a resuce dog who was a cruelty case at the local dogs home and i rescued him when he was 6 months old. Not realising he was ill at the time, he was diagnosed with a chronic pancreatic insufficiency by the vet which means he is unable to digest his food properly. This condition is something ... ...I was the reccommended BAkers Complete so i tried him on the BAker Lite to be on the safe side and he loved it. Feeling sorry for him eating the same thing day in day out... i tired him with the regular Beef and Vegetable's and he was fine on that too, as long as he had his tablets.
Bakers from Purina has a wide variety to choose from including weight control, lite, puppy or senior, you can also just purchase the meaty chunks on their own. Flavours ...

Advantages: looks good, claims to be good for your dog Disadvantages: my dog doesn't like it
We bought our dog, Katy, a box of Purina Bakers' Complete, because we felt it would improve her diet. I am not convinced she gets all her vitamins and minerals from tinned dog food, even though we give her Winalot, which is very good.
It is quite expensive, but at Asda, we have found there seem to be several special offers. The first week, there was a free packet of dog treats with it, then the next time we bought it, it was a special deal of two ... ...large box (1.5kg) so lasts a long time. It is atractively packaged, with a very impressive list of benefits it claims to offer your dog. The dog food itself is different colours and shapes, which look nice and it says they contain high fibre, calcium, energy, iron, minerals and protein.
So it all sounds great ! Well, the first week or so, I was very good - Katy ate it up and enjoyed it. We gave her Bakers' in the morning, Winalot in the evening ...

Advantages: Re-sealable bag, smell nice, dogs love them Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Seeing as myself and my girlfriend have a whole cupboard full of dog treats, I thought I would do a review on one of the dog's favourite snacks.
Packaging
These treats come on a sealed plastic bag. One thing I like about these treats is that the packet is re-sealable which means that the treats stay fresh.
The packet itself is quite big, probably about a foot tall, by half a foot wide. The Bakers logo is written across the front of the packet in white writing. Crunchers is also written across the front with a picture of the Bakers Crunchers on the front underneath the writing.
One the back of the packet is information about the product, as well as information about other products that Bakers sell. There is a feeding chart informing you of how many treats you dog should be allowed depending on its size. Finally there is ...
Advantages: low fat Disadvantages: too small for any dog other than toy breeds
My dogs enjoy a little treat whilst out on walks, but they also get bored very quickly so I have always on the look out for new treats I think they will like.
I hadn't noticed these treats from Bakers until recently so gave them a go. The come in a blue and yellow packet with the Bakers logo and mascot and a picture of the product on the front. They are described as 'mini chunks of meatiness'. They cost £1.19 for 130g, packs are resealable so treats stay fresh and moist even after opening.
The treats are small chunks, around 1.5cm x 1cm (they look alot bigger on the front of the pack) and of a dark colour. You get three flavours in a packet- poultry, game and beef, the pack says they are low in fat. They smell strongly and do make you hands smell slightly so I didn't take them on walks with me (the reason I brought them in ...
Advantages: Nutritious, non messy to prepare Disadvantages: None
My Labrador continued with the dry food the breeder had used for all of his dogs. She suddenly took a dislike to it at 10 months old and i tried various other foods with no luck until i found BAKERS MEATY BITES.. She loves the food and thrives on it. Her coat shimmers and she is overall in peak health.
The Meaty bites are non messy and easy to prepare. They can also be cut into smaller pieces and used as treats.
Although she prefers the chicken variety it is available in beef too.
The feeding guideline can be altered to suit the stamina of your dog. For my Labrador the guideline is 405-600 grams per day but she is happy on 400 with a few extra cut into pieces as treats. ...
