having applied it. I didn't really love it at first, but I guess I can say I have got used to it because I found out it really helped my lips to be softer and crackless.
Ingredients
There are three main substances used to "cook" carmex: Menthol as an anti-itch agent, camphor to relieve pain and phenol as an anaesthetic. Additionally lanolin, wax, coca butter, salicyl acid and a pertolatum-based fragrance were added.
Carma Labs, the producer, claim that Carmex is not tested on animals but only family members and consists of natural ingredients. They also say it's gluten-free, so much for the allergy advice. (I actually don't see a reason why a lipbalm should contain gluten anyway.)

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Carmex Lip Balm

suitable for all skin types and apparently is richly infused with rose geranium essential oil for its myriad skin care uses. The pretty pink packaging which first caught my eye goes on to say that among the ingredients are: shea butter, sunflower oil and jojoba oil. Well I can't ask for more than that! I had been expecting a slight smell of rose geranium but can't say that I've ever noticed it.

reviews about this product here on Ciao and had been meaning to try it for some time.
The little pot containing 7.5g of lipbalm cost £2.43 and when I went through the checkout the assistant commented on how good the product was too!
The little white pot has a yellow screw top lid and is nice and sturdy so I would feel happy having this in the bottom of my handbag without having to worry whether it had come open and plastered the contents of my bag with sticky lipbalm.
There is a bit of information on the top of the lid to just tell you to apply the balm freely to chapped or dry lips and to keep it out of the reach of children.
I unscrewed the lid and the texture of the lipbalm inside is quite firm and it is golden in colour. To be honest it looks like beeswax furniture polish! It has a light, pleasant, slightly chemical fragrance ...
