I am a skincare obsessive! I am interested in real opinions not just advertiser speak, wasted far too much money that way! I am a keen runner - long distances are my faves and I love my cat Gizmo.

I bought this Aloe Vera Gel after reading about how good it was for soothing chapped and irritated skin - and boy were they right!
To put you in the picture, I started serious running about 18 months ago and had endless problems with chaffing under the arms and on the legs etc.... any runners will know what I mean! After the Great North run last year I was red raw in some places so I went on a hunt for a natural way of soothing skin without too many chemicals and additives - and Aloe Vera seemed to be the answer I had been looking for.
I trogged down to Boots and they sold a few different kinds but I opted for the big massive size Banana Boat one, daftly cos I liked the name and the whole greeness of it! It is 453ml in size and cost £5.99 and comes with a pump dispenser and is a bright green gel, I am actually on my 3rd bottle now and it often comes up on offer so look out for it.
I started using it straight away after my post run shower and the second I applied it it starting to cool my chapped skin and it sunk into the area immediately - allowing me to put an extra layer on to absord into my parched skin. The effect it has had on my skin has been amazing - the redness disappears about twice as fast as when I was using normal cream, and the skin softens and is calmed far far quicker now then ever before. Wether it has a cumulative effect on the skin I don't know but I can honestly say I will always use Aloe Vera Gel for chapped skin.
It has changed the way I look at my body skin care routine as I now use it all year round as my general body moisturiser - as it sinks in so fast - is non greasy - mega easily absorbed, which means you can dress in seconds. The smell is really fresh and light and doesn't really linger on your skin - so no perfume clashes etc.
The massive size you get means you can splurge with it and I have found that one pump does each arm and leg etc.... Handy!

Review of Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel
Advantages: Great for sunburn, reasonably priced if you shop around, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, feels cool to the touch, spreads easily, lasts forever! Disadvantages: Can be expensive if you do not shop around, the kids keep pinching it!
