Its not big and its not clever but every year I usually get burnt about once in the sun. Its usually the first time it comes out that year and I am not used to it and get a bit blasé with my sun tan lotion usage. I have pale skin and blond hair so although I can tan it takes a long time and usually I just go red first and can go quite badly red even if I am just out in the sun for half and hour or so. I know all my target points that I have to cover with suntan lotion to avoid getting burnt, nose, top of my legs, chest etc but sometimes I forget and they end up getting terribly red and hot.

I know if I have had too much sun as a few hours later my skin resembles a beetroot and is really hot to touch. I hate the feeling as it always makes me feel a bit unwell so my saviour is this aloe vera gel. I think this is an amazing product and really works well on my skin. What I love about this gel is that it is instantly cooling on my hot skin which is nice. I squeeze out a whole bit blob onto my hands and lightly rub it into my skin. YOu can feel it instantly cooling it down and it really odes soothe it which is a lovely sensation. That initial cooling sensation does not last long however though but whats nice is that the gel then soaks into my skin and you can really feel it working to protect my skin. The gel soaks in fast, I think at this point my skin is literally crying for moisture and it just drinks it up so I normally apply two coats.

Banana Boat say that after a day in the sun this gel will help to cool and replenish dry skin which I really think it does. I tend to soak my body in the stuff and it really does make my skin quite smooth after applying it which is nice. It will not take the redness away unfortunately, this will stay for quite a few days until it fades naturally but what I like about this gel is that it really helps to prevent peeling and I find that if I use it I can stop my skin peeling quite a bit. There is always some peeling but this definitely cuts down on the amount.

The gel has a slight aloe vera smell but nothing too overpowering and nothing chemical like. The gel is green which makes me think it is quite a natural organic aloe vera that they use in the product and I like the fact that it is something from nature working well on my skin. A 230g bottle costs £5.99 which I think is quite expensive but a little does go a long way and I find a whole tub is plenty enough for the summer and one whole year. A great product is you sunbathe too much!!
