My son is only three, but seemingly quite advanced for his age. I'm not sure whether it is because he has an older sister or the fact that he is in a rush to grow up, either way he seems to be interested in slightly older toys and things then I would expect a lad of his age to be.
One of these things happens to be something my sister liked when she was ten… this being the Power Rangers, the red one in particular!
This being the case, my mum purchased every Power Rangers piece of merchandise she could find, well that's how it felt on Christmas morning anyway!
The toy I will now review is - "Red hovertek cycle with Power Ranger".
The packaging for these sort of toys is pretty standard, there is the obligatory very rigid cardboard box, and trust me these beggar belief, they seem almost impossible to open, with the toy within being even harder to remove! There is also a clear plastic panel, so that you may see the toy within, this is also usually set up in some unrealistic pose that will never be achievable again with the help of the three hundred metal tie-wires that is holding it together at that particular point.
When you finally manage to fight your way through the packaging you are faced with the afore mentioned ties, on top of that the toy has been vacuum packed into plastic, this means that removal of the toy is another 15 minute job!
Once the toy and all the accessories have been removed, (and of course the instructions), it is time to give it a bash, so to speak!
Contents include - Red Power Ranger, Motorbike, Propeller blade, Two spiked spears.
Until actually reading the instructions I didn't realise that this toy was a transformer of sorts!
The motorbike's tail end lifts up to become a neck rest for the Ranger, under this is the back wheel, that when split in half swings round, one on each side of the Ranger to become a turbine. On the top of the now erect tail end is a small nobble, to which the detachable exhaust , can be removed and placed, upside down, onto the nobble and this becomes a propeller.
Finally on the front end of the motorbike/helicopter are two small holes to push the spiked spears into. Once they have clicked into place there is a small button on the side of the vehicle that when pushed shoots the spears out, and yes we have come close on more than one occasion to eye injuries, but if you will be daft enough to try and look around Connor to watch the Royle family it is entirely your own fault!
This toy is quite good fun, keeping my son and my husband amused for quite some time! This was purchased for the price of £19.99 from Woolworths.

This is a lovely toy aimed at 4+ year olds. All the parts are moving, with the characters all being jointed and poseable, there are a few small parts but these are few and far between.
