Advantages: Friendly staff Disadvantages: Long Cues
...Bank of Ireland
I have been a customer of bank of Ireland for some time now, and I have to admit I have never had any problems with the service.
I have a basic saving account and a credit card with this bank - and I have been a loyal customer every since.
I opened an account when I was 17, and they were very helpful as I had no ID, so they worked hard with me to get a way of opening an account for me, which I appreciated very much. This account is not a card account, just a savings account - meaning I had to physically go into a bank branch to withdraw or deposit money. Advantages: do what you can at a bank Disadvantages: too serious
...I have always found Barclays in general to be great to me and very helpful. I use online banking daily and find it excillent for finding out my bank balance.

I find the site itself quite user friendly but I wish they would make the site a little more fun by having competitions etc....

To begin with, I did a lot of research online - searching for lenders, comparing interest rates, etc. However, at the end of the day, finding little difference between most lenders, we decided just to stick with our bank - Bank of Scotland. Our main reasons for choosing Band of Scotland were the speed of the application process (as existing customers) and the 3 month repayment holiday at the start of the loan.
Loans Available
You can borrow any amount from £1,000 to £25,000; the interest rate will vary depending on loan amount and personal circumstances but you can expect it to be around 8.9%. There are no repayments for the first 3 months...
