POOR TELEPHONE BANKING
Advantages: Polite Disadvantages: They simply don't know what they are doing.
The story is so long but please take my word for it, their telephone service is horrible!
They don't have a laid down guide on basic procedures and end up with different answers and different opinions. I spent about 33 minutes calling there 0845 number and spent another 43 minutes on the phone in a branch simply trying to transfer money from an account. The guys just don't know what to do. Actually, they think they know what to do but I guarantee ... ...they will identify three different problems, give you different suggestions on what to do and how to resolve it, and each of them will politely apologise for the wrong information the others have given you.
They all need to be trained, from their telephone bank manager ( because I spoke to one) to the customer service guys on the phone .
Be warned!! ...

Barclays Curent Account
Advantages: Good online service, good opening hours, local branches Disadvantages: Poor customer service
I've been a Barclays customer for eight years, have a current account, a Barclaycard and an ISA with them. I first started using the bank as a student, because they offered a pretty good overdraft limit.
However, eight years later and I am currently experiencing some pretty shocking customer service in my opinion, which is making me seriously consider moving to another bank. After having a fraudulant payment taken out of my account in March I expected ... ...of. I also don't feel Barclays give you many incentives to stay with them and considering their huge profits, I would expect better customer service. From my point of view, this experience has really tainted my view of the back and I am still waiting for my money back. They do have good opening hours, especially good that they are open most of the day on a Saturday, a good online service, which is easy to use and sign up to and they have a fair few ...

The worst, slowest bank - avoid!
Advantages: Staff use a friendly voice when telling you you're going to have to wait another couple of weeks Disadvantages: everything else
I hope that every natwest burns to the ground and is replaced by a sewage treatment plant. If for some reason you are tricked into opening an account here, expect not to be able to use it for a month and a half. Getting anything done here is like pouring molasses or herding cats. Also expect your card to stop working at random times that make sense neither to you nor to the bank staff. They'll probably just shrug their shoulders and say you have ... ...a new PIN. AVOID NATWEST AT ALL COSTS. "Don't use natwest" should be one of those rules like "don't buy pot from someone trying to sell it to you in a crowded area," or "don't buy a car without test-driving it," or "don't buy a bike from a kid hawking it on a street corner for too low a price." ...

Lloyds TSB
Advantages: Generally good service, helpful! Disadvantages: High charges!
Lloyds TSB I have been with Lloyds TSB literally all my life, they've always seemed to be a good bank to me, they won't lend me money as it is as I've never had credit and have been a student and never had a full time job, which is good, a lot of banks don't care and will give money out to anyone regardless of whether they can pay it back or not, but I've never had this with Lloyds, the only thing with them is the charges they put on your account ... ...with Lloyds really are a godsend when my wages are short by 50 pound one month and my phone bill needs paying so I don’t mind a £25 charge for a £100 unplanned overdraft, it s when you go overdrawn by 4p that the charge is annoying!!! Other than this, Lloyds have been a very good bank for me, yes they try to sell me things like car insurance even though I have no car, or mobile phone insurance but don't all banks do this?? I would recommend an account ...

Poor insecure online banking. Unhelpful staff.
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Security and stability issues with online banking. Disorganized company.
First of all Abbey is a very disorganized bank. When I had problem with the newly applied credit card, the number on the back of the card goes to a call centre dealing with current accounts only. After telling them I have a credit card, they gave me another number to call, which diverts to the same call centre. After trying AT LEAST 10 different numbers, eventually I was transferred to the right department. It all seems a bit random as the same number ... ...la operación." OK I know Abbey is owned by the Spanish bank Santander, but showing Spanish messages in a UK system just shows the system is not well tested before releasing to the public. Now onto security. Abbey requires you to enter a username (which is strangely called Internet ID) and password (which is called Security Number, NOT password. Password in Abbey refers to something else!) It's all confusing but worst of all, your Security Number ...
