Their error not mine
Advantages: the open new accounts easily Disadvantages: unreasonable charges
...I used that card.
Barclays had in fact paid the cheque into the new account that hadn't even been opened at the point of paying the cheque in which caused me to go over drawn.
The end results was despite my protest was they charge me £25 and refused to refund it.
Make your own mind up! ...

Opening a student account
Advantages: Online Banking, phone banking, free railcard, overdraft Disadvantages: Very poor customer service, very poor service in general
...I went the Natwest bank on campus thinking I would only have to go once and my account would be opened with no further problems, I was very wrong! First of all they lost my details, such as photocopy of passport etc resulting in me having to go into the bank another time. In short, I had to go to the bank several times before actually opening my account. I have found that the staff are very unhelpful in that they do not try and solve any problems ... ...order to solve my problems. Also, they failed to send me my rail card the first time round because they mixed my home address and my term time address, coming up with a whole new non existent address! Although this particular bank has been rather unhelpful, I must say that the branch in town has solved a few problems the two times I have been there. Consequently this does not mean that all branches will be the same everywhere. However, my friend ...

HSBC - Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation - Who do you bank w
Advantages: Lots of ways to bank day and night. Disadvantages: Not the most helpful customer service centre but then thats banks!
...held a bank account with HSBC since I was turned 16 and I had my first job lined up. I went to my local branch with the relevant photographic ID (passport) and proof of address (Medical card) and was immediately signed up for a standard account and a savings account. I then created my security number (between 6-10 digits) which is used for online banking and telephone banking to confirm that you are the account holder. HSBC have many branches all ... ...The customer service at HSBC leaves a little to the imagination at the best of times. I previously had a loan with them and had a number of problems getting through to get the date of payment changed when I changed jobs (and the date that I got paid changed!) and on one occasion they even transferred money from my savings account to my current account one day before I was due to make a payment as they wanted to guarantee that the payment would clear ...

Lloyds Refuses Tranfers
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Dis-honest, Dis-respectful, Delaying transfers for > 30 days
Lloyds TSB received a written letter from me on October 8th 2008 to transfer 10000 GBP to another of my accounts.
They agreed to this because they also changed my address at the same time and that went through.
I have now called Lloyds TSB Customer Services >20 times.
Almost every day from Oct 9th to November 4th.
They give continuously new excuses for not transferring the funds.
Every time they go through 5-6 security questions - as if hoping ... ...should receive the money - and they expect the funds - and then 3 weeks later the funds have still NOT left Lloyds TSB....
I recommend anyone not to use Llloyds - not know which banks are better, but this is complete dis-honesty !
regards
Andreas Lennevi ...

the worse bank in UK
Advantages: none Disadvantages: money disappering, bad customer service, bad opening hours, long queu
Why choose abbey when there are excellent and reliable banks out there.
I was victim of a fraud. too long to explain. not finished yet. The bank does not allow me to close my bank account...It is a nightmare. it is unbelievable. I am a good customer. NO loans, no debts...Since the first day I have opened my bank account, I have had one problem after another. the staff is rude and unhelpful.
the queu is endless
I have paid money in my bank account ... ...the receipt to prove my deposit and they said that the receipt has got no value!!!!!
I have tried to change my home address for over two months with no success. they are unable to write my new address on their database...belive me...it is horrendous.
If you want to sleep at night, if you want peace of mind stay away from abbey. ...
