I am a 2nd Year student at Queens University Belfast where I study Management with French. I also work part-time in the Butchery departement at my local Co-op superstore. I enjoy swimming.

I got the Student Barclaycard when I first started university in 1999. The application process was fast and straightforward (leaflets are available at universities or go to www.barclaycard.co.uk). At that time, they were giving away a Phillips C12 BT Cellnet Pay as You Go Mobile phone free with each successful application so that was a great bonus. However, I am not sure if this offer is still applicable.
With it being a student barclaycard, there is no annual fee. You are billed monthly and the minimum monthly payment is £5. The current monthly interest rate stands at 1.492%. Barclaycard provide you with a detailed two page statement each month - page one is a summary including your balance, what and when to pay and your credit limit. Page two is a more comprehensive breakdown of your individual monthly transactions.
Cash withdrawals can be made using your Barclaycard with a 1.5% charge, or £1.50 minimum.
Payment is made simple as Barclaycard offer various methods of payment. However, the most convenient would be online at wwww.barclaycard.co.uk - just give them the details of your current account and they will debit the money.
I particularly like Barclaycard because they appear to keep up with changing conditions. They recently increased the cridt limit from £350 to £500 (this is the standard limit that everyone recieves on applying).
Consequently, I would strongly reccommend that you give Barclaycard a try as it can make student life a lot easier!
