Stay well away from Credit Cards thay are bad news and the person who thought of them should be shipped to some desert island an left to... The process of applying is far too easy, you should be grilled about why you want one and asked to complete a test like the new driving theory test where you list what you think the advantages and dissadvantages of owning one would be. People who dont score highly shouldnt be given one. I started with a Barclaycard and was given a £900 limit, 1 year later my limit rose to £1800 - doubled in just one year, now 18 months on they have just raised it again to £2200! - I havent used my card for over six months and they have now sent me a Gold Card and I only get £11,000 a year from my FT job, nowhere near the £20,000 that they request to people who want one! Stay away from them, if you are not sendible enough not to use it like me, you will only end up regretting applying for one!

The advice is sound but is not just relative to Barclaycard, why not have the op moved to the buyer beware section where it will possibly be of more use..Baz
