I have a Skycardcredit card (which is run by Barclaycard) and was the victim of fraud when someone changed the address and password details for the card I live in Nottingham and the address details changed to London. The fraudsters also managed to change all of the personal details that I had on the account such as date of birth, password, second card holder etc.
I spoke to their fraud people and the details were changed back to my address and new password, correct date of birth etc. I was advised by their own fraud department to cancel my direct debit to them until we could be sure that there had been no illegal was resolved.
However, I constantly get phone calls from their customer service team asking me for payment and I have to go through the whole story with them again and again - they obviously can't be bothered to read the notes on my account before they call me and are adding on late payment charges despite promising me that they wouldn't do this until we sorted things out.
More recently there has been another worrying development as my security settings such as my password, date of birth and mother's maiden name seem to have been illegally changed again!!
I can include conclude that either Barclaycard's Skycard security systems are incredibly poor, or (and I really hope this isn't the case)there are actually some unscrupulous fraudsters working within the organisation at the present time! I would strongly advise you not to take out a Skycard unless you are happy for someone else to steal your identity and your money!!!
