Advantages A better rate of interest than a loan over a shorter period of time.
Disadvantages when the offer finishes (eg. balance transfer) the credit rate shoots up to a high rate.

Barclaycard is reliable |

I have found barclaycard to be quite reliable, you get awarded cashback if you use it in certain stores, If you have a connect card and a current account , which you can view online it has a link to take you directly to your barclaycasrd account online, so you can see how much is outstanding etc.,
There are various types of credit cards with Barclays, some allow you up to 56days interest free. (cash withdrawals are more expensive with no interest free period. This may work out very expensive for most people), Others offer you a very competative rate for balance transfers with a small percentage handling fee. The period is becoming longer and more worthwhile I think the longest yet has been 22 months.Another thype of barclaycard offers a permantent low percentage rate (6.7% or thereabouts for life of the loan.
All these cards should be taken seriously and do not borrow anymore than you have to.
