I was extremely pleased when Barclays announced the unveiling of their on-line account management module. Working for a bi-national company and in the IT industry, I often find myself working long hours, skipping lunch breaks and working in another country, which makes it very difficult for me to get to a bank physically so I sent off for my information pack straightaway.
Whether at home or at work, day or night, at the touch of a button, I can view balances of all my accounts, including loans, pay bills (for which there is a helpful function to find company account details), create standing orders, transfer money between saving accounts and keep an eye on all my direct debits. Even the virtual viewing of my statements has helped me resolve some contentious bill payments as within a few clicks, have found all the details I needed to prove a point, I rest my case M'lud! One of the extra little touches I like, is the link to the Barclaycard site. Centralisation is a great idea and very effective as it means only one URL to put on my favourites list!
Security is always a main concern on the Internet and many people are put off by worries of unauthorised access but in this case it has been dealt with, using different protection methods to ensure complete peace of mind. Users also have control over the memorable word, so to make it even harder, you can change it to your heart's content!
I've been banking on-line since the beginning and hand on heart, have had no problems whatsoever. This has truly been a godsend as I now only need to go to the bank once a month, so not only have I saved money but valuable time aswell. Once you've signed up, you'll wonder how on Earth you ever managed before.

I aint got the grips of online banking yet, but I will soon just waiting until I get a credit card in a year or 2!

good op, needs slightly more detail to get higher ratings though- well written :)
Advantages: Easy to set-up, easy to use, security like fort knox Disadvantages: you have to wait for passcodes to come in post, you can't pay in money (obviously!!)
